Reviewing Smarties Liquid Candy, Pillsbury S’mores & Coffee, Lays Cheetos, and More

Updated:

This snack review has Smarties Liquid Squeeze Candy, Pillsbury Creamy Supreme Coffee and Funfetti S’mores Fluffy Flavored Frostings, and Lays Limited Edition Cool Ranch Doritos and Cheetos flavored chips. The snacks this batch were pretty good, and I was especially taken aback by how good most of them were. Unfortunately, the worst of the bunch had to be the Pillsbury Coffee Frosting due to its artificial taste and lack of versatility.

Smarties Liquid Squeeze Candy

Score: 7 / 10

Holding a tube of Smarties Liquid Squeeze Candy, Tart & Tangy Mixed-Fruit flavored.

Tastes nothing like Smarties. Instead, it’s a semi-thick gel that has soft, stringy texture and is incredibly sweet. It’s not too gooey or watery, it’s just right and doesn’t fall apart, making it easy to eat. This sweetness is an artificial tasting cherry-berry and is a must try for sweets fans.

Not sure when these were released although reviews date back several years. Found at Dollar Tree.

Pillsbury Creamy Supreme Coffee Flavored Frosting

Score: 5 / 10

Holding a can of Pillsbury Creamy Supreme Coffee Flavored Frosting.

Fairly sweet, artificial coffee tasting frosting. The coffee flavor isn’t overbearing and the sweetness is a little lower than many of their other traditional flavored frostings. Due to the artificial taste, it’s not great but it’s not terrible either. Texture is that of regular Pillsbury frosting. As someone who enjoys coffee and coffee tasting products, I wasn’t a big fan of this and I’m not sure what it’d be good with either.

Released March 1, 2023, alongside other new frostings. Found at Walmart.

Pillsbury Funfetti S’mores Flavored Fluffy Frosting

Score: 7 / 10

Holding a can of Pillsbury Funfetti S'mores Flavored Fluffy Frosting.

A fairly sweet frosting that isn’t as sweet as the more traditional Pillsbury frostings. It advertises itself as s’mores flavored and for the most part, it’s decently accurate. There is mostly a marshmallow, graham cracker’ish taste with a light chocolate background. What’s most interesting is the texture, which differs greatly from other frostings. Maybe mine was made incorrectly, but it’s like they mixed marshmallow fluff with regular frosting; it’s more sticky and stringy. The sprinkles also add a complimentary texture to it. Overall, I could see this frosting being fairly versatile and compliment a variety of different baked goods.

Lays Limited Edition Cool Ranch Doritos Flavored Chips

Score: 7 / 10

Front package of limited edition Lays Cool Ranch Doritos Flavored Chips.

These taste about identical to sour cream and onion chips. Really, there isn’t much difference to Lay’s Sour Cream and Onion. The seasoning is pretty strong and is a nice taste if you’re into these types of flavors.

Released for a limited time August 2023 alongside a Cheetos, Kettle Cooked All Dressed Ruffles, and Funyuns variants. Found at CVS.

Back package, including ingredients and nutrition label of limited edition Lays Cool Ranch Doritos Flavored Chips.

Lays Limited Edition Cheetos Flavored Chips

Score: 6.5 / 10

Front package of limited edition Lays Cheetos flavored Chips.

These have a semi-light coating of Cheetos flavoring on them. Of course, this is to be expected as Lay’s chips are fairly thin and wouldn’t be able to handle the super thick coating of a regular Cheeto. With this, as the taste isn’t as strong, the stickyness that gets stuck to your hands and in between your teeth you find with Cheetos isn’t there. Overall, the Cheetos flavor is appreciable but not overwhelming.
