Reviewing Mrs. Freshley’s Deluxe Brownie, Cookies ‘n’ Creme Cakes, & More

This snack review has Mrs. Freshley’s Deluxe Oreo Brownie, Cookies ‘n’ Creme Cakes, and Hershey’s Triple Chocolate Cakes, as well as KitKat Duos Mint and Dark Chocolate, and Krispie / Treat House Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treat.

A solid snack haul with only one being a dud. Unfortunately, my love for candy corn could not stomach the Rice Krispie treat. It was all made up by the Mrs. Freshley’s snacks though. All of these little cakes were super tasty and things I’d almost certainly buy again. And last but not least, that mint flavored KitKat wasn’t too shabby either!

Mrs. Freshley’s Deluxe Oreo Brownie

Score: 8 / 10

Front package of Mrs. Freshley's Deluxe Oreo Brownie.

Aside from the Oreos on top, this is just a chocolate tasting brownie. It’s texture is artificial-like but in a good way as it’s super soft and really pleasant overall. It’s not too sweet either, though, I wish it had more of the Oreo flavor or some incorporation of creme.

While I’m not certain when this full Oreo Brownie was released, a mini version was released in June 2020. Found at Stop & Shop.

Mrs. Freshley’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme Cakes

Score: 7 / 10

Front package of Mrs. Freshley's Cookies 'n' Creme Cakes.

This cake is so crumbly! It’s also not that sweet and has a lightly pleasant cookies and creme taste. There’s a tiny bit of filling mixed in the center with the cake which makes the cake softer than it already is.

Released June 2021. Found at Stop & Shop.

Mrs. Freshley’s Hershey’s Triple Chocolate Cakes

Score: 8 / 10

Front package of Mrs. Freshley's Hershey's Triple Chocolate Cakes.

Crumbly, especially the thin outter chocolate shell. The taste is pretty sweet and dark, and the chocolate flavor reminds me of Hershey’s. The center has a good amount of gooey filling which adds another layer to the already super chocolatey cake. This would be amazing chilled!

Released June 2020 alongside Reese’s Cupcakes and Deluxe Oreo Mini Brownies. Found at Stop & Shop.

KitKat Duos Mint and Dark Chocolate

Score: 7 / 10

Front package of King Size KitKat Duos Mint and Dark Chocolate.

That is a really strong mint smell! If you compared this to a York, it’s similiar but just a tiny bit less of a mint taste. Basically, it’s still a punchy mint and is definitely appreciable for mint chocolate lovers. The sweet dark chocolate KitKat flavor pairs nicely with it.

Released December 2019, one of the first Duos flavors released.

Krispie / Treat House Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treat

Score: 4 / 10

Packaged Krispie / Treat House Candy Corn Flavored Rice Krispie Treat

What were they going for? It’s not candy corn, it’s not really a Rice Krispie Treat… it’s just bad. It’s very artificial tasting and barely sweet. At least the texture is soft I guess but even that feels off compared to a Rice Krispie Treat. The taste is like candy corn if candy corn tasted like a watered down vanilla candy. Also, the thin layer of flavorless frosting on top does absolutely nothing aside from being atheistically pleasing.

Despite the labeling of ‘Krispie House’ on the label, they go by ‘Treat House’ online. Not sure when they released this item although I suspect it’s only around during the fall and Halloween season. Found at Walmart.
