Reviewing Jelly Belly Monster Mash, Lay’s Funyuns Chips, Pepperidge Farms Birthday Cookies, & More

For the most part, most of these taste like they’re advertised. The one that wasn’t good and weird was the caramel corn flavor; the others, though, were mostly spot-on, although artificial tasting. None were too sweet, either. I liked the variety, but they need to fix the caramel corn!

According to some online sources, this appears to have been released around early fall 2022 for the Halloween season. Found at Stop & Shop.

I always look forward to these KitKats every holiday! They’re sweeter than the regular Kit Kat, and instead of being wrapped in chocolate, they have a green vanilla marshmallow cream. This marshmallow doesn’t taste exactly like marshmallow, but it’s close enough. Combined with the wafer center, these almost have s’mores vibes.

Released in fall 2020 for the Halloween season alongside Franken-Cups and Vampire Kisses. These have come back every year since.

Funyuns have a strong onion taste, and compared to these, there’s no comparison: these chips are much less strong and won’t offend those picky about onion flavors. The onion flavor is there, but it’s evenly mixed with the potato. The texture is that of typical Lay’s Wavy chips, which are thick and a bit crunchier than regular chips.

It is a pretty thin, fairly sweet, sugar-tasting cookie. Even though the package says “Birthday Cake,” any vanilla birthday cake was mostly overshadowed by the sugary taste, though, interestingly, despite a sugary taste, it wasn’t overly sweet either; it was just missing more pronounced flavors. The texture was fairly moist and soft, reminiscent of an underbaked cookie
