This snack review has Choceur European Chocolate Collection, Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee Cake Muffin, Hostess Hot Cocoa & Marshmallow Donettes, Pillsbury Moist Supreme Perfectly Pumpkin Cookies, and The Nightmare Before Christmas Cheddar, Caramel Apple, & Cinnamon Roll Popcorn.

Choceur European Chocolate Collection

Score: 7 / 10

Front box of Aldi Choceur European Chocolate Collection.

Weirdly, most of these chocolates have very similar tastes and about identical textures. That’s not to say they were bad though, it was all pretty tasty although they really need the flavors to differentiate themselves like other competing products. And while these were still sweet, they aren’t unbearably sweet like other candy assortments like Russell Stover. Textures of each candy was soft shell with a soft creamy inside.

Aldi’s brand Choceur has been selling identical candy collections like this for several years, designing the box differently based on the occasion.

Dunkin’ Donuts Coffee Cake Muffin

Score: 6 / 10

Dunkin' Donuts Coffee Cake Muffin on a table.

Coffee cakes are amazing. Coffee donuts are amazing. The Dunkin’ Coffee Cake Muffin? Meh. The taste is sort of there, it kind of has that traditional cinnamony coffee cake flavor but it’s extremely toned down. The texture at least was decent as it was a soft muffin with a good solid top.

I’m not sure when this was released although it’s likely been around for some time.

Hostess Hot Cocoa & Marshmallow Donettes

Score: 8.5 / 10

Front package of Hostess Hot Cocoa & Marshmallow Donettes.

Much more soft and most compared to other Donettes, it’s almost a bit squishy and has some grittiness to it. These have a sweet, chocolate taste isn’t like regular chocolate, it’s different, not sure if it’s exactly like hot cocoa but it’s good. And they also do have a sweet, creamy, almost marshmallow taste too.

First released around the late fall season in 2017. I’m not sure if these came back after but they did come back November 2023 for a limited time. Found at Stop & Shop.

Pillsbury Moist Supreme Perfectly Pumpkin Cookies

Score: 5.5 / 10

Box of Pillsbury Perfectly Pumpkin Moist Supreme Cookie Mix with Cream Cheese Frosting.

Lightly sweet, pumpkinish tasting cookies. Ultimately, these need more pumpkin flavor and sweetness. At least for the sweetness, personally, that’s where the frosting comes in. You may very well like these if semi-sweet cookies are your thing.

Not sure when these were released but reviews date back to several years ago. Found at Ocean State Job Lot.

The Nightmare Before Christmas Cheddar, Caramel Apple, & Cinnamon Roll Popcorn

Score: 6 / 10

Tub of Disney Halloween The Nightmare Before Christmas Cheddar, Caramel Apple, & Cinnamon Roll flavored popcorn.

Out of the three popcorns here, the caramelized apple was the absolute standout. Sweet, crunchy, and a bold candy apple taste. The same cannot be said for the other two. The Cheddar and Cinnamon Roll hardly had any flavor and the texture was cheap. Cinnamon Roll has a super light cinnamon sugar taste and the Cheddar was an equally light cheese-like taste that wasn’t quite cheddar. At the very least, the art on this tub is really spooky!

While I’m not sure when this was released, it does seem that according to reviews, it came around sometime in the fall of 2023 for the Halloween season.
