Reviewing Everything Reeses: Cookies, Bakes, Candy, & More

Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg

Score: 8 / 10

Like, I need to be in a mood to want these. Do I want something different but still Reese’s?

For the most part, I genuinely believe they’re very similar to regular Reese’s Cups. You may want to argue they’re more chunky, and in a way, they are, but the ratio is more or less the same. The center isn’t all filled up all the way, and the extra peanut butter is made up for the fact that the shell is quite thick. Nonetheless, it’s satisfying to bite in for some reason, and when chilled, it’s just as good, if not better. I also like that despite being so large, it doesn’t fall apart when you start eating through it!

These have been around for some time, likely since the 1970s, in different variations but generally to celebrate the spring and easter seasons. Found at Walmart in March 2025.

Betty Crocker Reese’s Muffin Mix

Score: 7 / 10

Review coming soon.

Released in December 2023 alongside Reese’s No Bake Bars Mix. Found at Aldi March 2025.

Reese’s Cluster Bites

Score: 5 / 10

Review coming soon.

Released February 2024. Found at CVS March 2025.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Pie Miniature Cups

Score: 8.5 / 10

It’s so interesting, yet there isn’t much to see! Little graham cracker crunchy bits are embedded in these cups. In terms of flavor, they’re very close to regular Reese’s cups; I’d say they are about 90% equal. Something about it is slightly different, but I just can’t put my finger on it. Is it the added crunchy bits? I’m not sure! Either way, frankly, if you blindfolded me, you could convince me I was just eating a slightly crunchy regular Reese’s cup. Personally, I prefer these over the normal ones — the crunchies are such a nice touch!

Released around February 2025. Found at Walmart in early March.

Reese’s Filled Pretzels

Score: 7 / 10

Reese’s peanut butter? Definitely not! Inside, it’s your standard, creamy, and soft peanut butter you’d find in most regular jarred peanut butters. It’s pleasantly sweet, surrounded by a tasty, salty pretzel. What I like most is that there’s a good glop of peanut butter in the center, which is nice; however, labeling it Reese’s is very deceiving!

Released November 2024. Found on Amazon March 2025.

Reese’s Spring Sprinkles Big Cup

Score: 8.5 / 10

What differentiates these from regular Big Cups is the fairly thick, crunchy bits embedded throughout the entire Reese’s peanut filling. Really, the image shows them the actual size! They provide a noticeable crunch, adding positively to the soft-solid, creamy peanut butter. Other than that, these are regular Big Cup Reese’s… but better (in my opinion)!

Released in late January 2025 for the Easter and spring seasons. Found at Walmart February 2025.

Chilli’s Reese’s Peanut Butter Pie

Score: 8 / 10

This cake really reminds me of a thick peanut butter cheesecake. It’s incredibly creamy and dense and has a pleasant Reese’s peanut butter taste. The good amount of embedded chips adds a nice crunchy texture. The bottom consists of a thick ganache and a sweet cookie-like dark chocolate crust, much like a Reese’s cup in terms of taste! Overall, it’s a great cake, but nothing too special or write home about. It could really use vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Released in November 2024 and tried February 2025.

Reese’s Red Velvet Miniatures

Score: 8 / 10

I’ve never seen a red Reese’s; these are half pink-red, half dark brown. The flavor is exactly as advertised, with a noticeable red velvet flavor and the traditional Reese’s chocolate and peanut butter. However, these come across as just a tinge less sweet. Overall, it’s a great and welcomed combination!

Released in late December / early January 2024 for the Valentine’s season. Found at Walmart in late January 2025.

Reese’s Fast Break

Score: 9 / 10

Better than regular Reese’s! There’s a little less peanut butter flavor, replaced by a semi-sweet chocolate nougat, which pairs well with the light peanut butter taste. Overall, it’s less sweet, but the texture is so much better! It’s super soft and feels like a ganache, and the different layers of texture make for a great eating experience!

Released in 2001. Found at Walmart January 2025.

Reese’s Sugar Cookie Miniature & Big Cup

Score:
8 / 10 (Cups)
8.5 / 10 (Minis)

The miniatures are more crunchy as they contain substantially more large bits of sugar cookie vs. the Cup. In addition, you can really taste a sugar cookie flavor alongside the sweet Reese’s chocolate and peanut butter; it’s a wonderfully tasty and an interesting combo! In fact, I like it more than regular Reese’s Minis!

However, the Big Cup lacks much of the crunch and sugar cookie flavor the Minis do as they don’t have as many embedded bits–it almost tastes like a regular Reese’s Cup; what a letdown!

Released around October 2024. Found at Target October 2024.

Chips Ahoy! Chewy Cookies With Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

Score: 7 / 10 (heated 7.5 / 10)

A moderate peanut butter-tasting cookie, that’s it. It doesn’t really remind me much of Reese’s because the cookie isn’t nearly as sweet, and the Reese’s flavor isn’t all there. They have chopped-up peanut butter cups embedded throughout, but the flavor and sweetness are cut in half compared to what you’d expect of a Reese’s filled cookie. If you like peanut butter, you’ll find these OK but lacking. I found that heating them up makes them taste a little better, and the texture gets even softer!

Not sure when this was released, although it’s been around for several years. Found at Stop & Shop October 2024.

Reese’s Chocolate Lava Big Cup

Score: 9 / 10

Don’t get your hopes up; these aren’t as good as they look. At the same time, don’t get me wrong; they’re so darn good! I put them a nudge higher than a regular Reese’s.

The fudge layer is a bit thinner than I’d like. It adds a decent fudgy flavor that is mostly overshadowed by the sweet, similar-tasting Reese’s chocolate. At room temperature, the fudge layer right under the chocolate can get stripped by the wrapper. Chilling them fixes it, although they appear less gooey.

Released August 27, 2024. Found at Walmart August 2024.

Reese’s Outrageous Bar

Score: 8 / 10

Lightly crunchy from all the Reese’s Pieces stuffed in this thing. It’s a super complex candy bar because it has so many competing textures from the sticky caramel, peanut butter, and crunchy Pieces. If you’re a Reese’s fan like me, though, you’ll absolutely find these to be outrageously good–Peanut butter galore!!

Released around May 2018. Found at Walmart August 2024.

Reese’s Jumbo Cup

Score: 8 / 10

A Reese’s. A bigger one. That’s pretty much it. Most importantly, the ratio of peanut butter to chocolate is more or less the same as that of a regular Reese’s.

Released mid-May 2024 and I found it in June, initially exclusive to Walgreens, but it will come to other stores later on. Likely limited edition. The physical differences between these and other versions can be found here.

Reese’s Unwrapped Mini Eggs

Score: 8 / 10

These are dangerous. Small, chunky, and, most importantly, they’re unwrapped, making them extremely easy to binge. Compared to Reese’s, these have slightly more chocolate and less peanut butter. Don’t mistake it, though; it’s still just as good!

Released February 2024 for the Easter season. These are modeled after the regular Reese’s Unwrapped. Found at Stop & Shop April 2024.

Betty Crocker Reese’s Lava Cake Mix

Score: 7 / 10

After trying the Oreo Lava Cake Mix, my expectations of these were high. These are good, but they aren’t great. The Reese’s peanut taste is very light, and the chocolate is dark. Overall, it comes across as more plain than it should be. At least the lava cake gooey texture is nice, though, I suggest cooking it a little extra because unlike the Oreo version, the peanut butter chips in these make it too gooey and undercooked.

Released late February 2024. Limited edition. Found at Aldi April 2024.

Reese’s Coffee Cake Mix

Score: 6 / 10

The directions are simply and all this needs are a few basic ingredients. However, underbake this by several minutes or else it’ll burn!

None of this feels like coffee cake. It’s substantially more dry and crumbly. The flavor is mostly plain and lightly sweet. Most of the flavor comes from the few Reese’s peanut chips throughout. As a Reese’s fanatic, I was disappointed. This needs more Reese’s and coffee cake flavor, as well as to make the texture more moist.

Released late 2022 / early 2023 alongside other Reese’s baked mixes like cookies, brownies, and pancakes. Found at Stop & Shop March 2024.

Reese’s Peanut Brittle

Score: 7.5 / 10

Nice little crunch to them because they have large peanuts in the middle! It tasted pretty good, but I miss the iconic chocolate flavor!

Released around September 2021 for the winter season. Reese’s first holiday flavor! May have been discontinued. Found around February 2024.

Reese’s Potato Chips Big Cup

Score: 7.5 / 10

Literally has potato chip pieces in the center, crazy! There’s a little less of a peanut butter taste compared to the OGs but these instead have a soft crunch. To note, it’s not as crunchy as the peanut variation.

Released around October 2021. Found around February 2024 at Walmart.

Creamy Reese’s Peanut Butter

Score: 5.5 / 10

The lie detector determined that it was a lie. This is a jar of plain-tasting peanut butter, nothing, and I mean nothing at all, like the peanut butter you’d find inside a Reese’s. You’d be far better off buying another brand that isn’t as bland and is a little more sweet and salty.

Not sure when this was released. Found at Walmart February 2024.

Reese’s with Reese’s Puffs Big Cup

Score: 7.5 / 10

Like the originals, it has full-fledged mini crunchy puffs in the center, which gives it more of a crunch. Interestingly, these tiny puffs weren’t at all soggy!

Released November 2022. Found at Walmart February 2024.

Reese’s Ultimate Peanut Butter Lovers

Score: 6.5 / 10

I love me some Reese’s peanut butter filling, and this hits the spot! It’s really good even without the chocolate, though it’s sorely missed, as these aren’t as sweet due to missing its chocolate friend.

Released for a limited time in 2019, 2020, and then in April 2022.

Betty Crocker Reese’s No Bake Bars Mix

Score: 7 / 10

To my surprise, these tasted just like Reese’s and were stupidly easy to make, kind of! The recipe calls for spreading the frosting after pouring the thick liquid into a pan, which is nearly impossible because the frosting is thick and the surface is soft. I’d suggest waiting for the peanut butter portion to harden in the fridge first. Additionally, what I didn’t like was that these came out thin! You definitely need to opt for a smaller pan, like 6-8 inches or even smaller–also be sure to use parchment paper as these stick to even a well-oiled pan.

Baking procedures aside, the soft peanut butter bar part is gritty, crumbly, moist, and tastes like the inside of a Reese’s, while the chocolate frosting flavor is exactly like the Reese’s shell. It really is a very accurate rendition of Reese’s in bar form!

A similar product was released in 2014 that required baking. These no-bake bars were released in December 2023 alongside Reese’s Muffin Mix. Found at Stop & Shop February 2024.

Reese’s Caramel Big Cup

Score: 10 / 10

This is the best Reese’s yet! There’s a huge portion of peanut butter filling, but what makes it is the thick bottom layer of super sweet caramel. This caramel makes the Reese’s even softer and gooier to bite into–it’s just perfect in terms of texture! The taste of the caramel is very sweet and does make the overall experience sweeter than your traditional already sweet Reese’s.

Released November 17, 2023. Found January 2024 at Walmart.

Reese’s Frozen Fruit Banana Slices

Score: 3 / 10

Front package of Reese's Frozen Fruit Banana Slices.

So watery! Where’s the flavor?! The outside has a thin Reese’s layer featuring chocolate and peanut butter, which encases a large piece of frozen banana. Unfortunately, the Reese’s isn’t at all noticeable, and due to the watery frozen banana, the banana isn’t flavorful either. Overall, bland, boring, and straight-up unpleasant to eat. It would be so much better with a regular, unfrozen, dipped banana.

Released October 2023 alongside a variety of other frozen fruits covered in different Hershey chocolates. Found at Walmart December 2023.

Back package including nutrition label of Reese's Frozen Fruit Banana Slices.

Plant Based Reese’s

Score: 6.5 / 10

Front package of Plant Based Reese's.

This feels and tastes like a completely different brand and snack. Compared to a regular Reese’s, these are more stiff and hard, and most of all, the taste is both a bit odd and just outright different. I can definitely see some people finding the taste off-putting like it’s clearly chocolate and peanut butter, but something about it seems off. Nonetheless, I found it decent, although nowhere as good or sweet as a regular Reese’s.

Released March 2023. Found at a local book shop November 2023.

Mrs. Freshley’s Reese’s Peanut Butter Flavored Cupcakes

Score: 9.5 / 10

Package of Mrs. Freshley's Reese's Peanut Butter Flavored Cupcakes.

If Reese’s were a cupcake, this would absolutely be it. Moist, soft, sweet, and the entire thing, from the topping to the stuffed peanut butter, all come together to form that classic Reese’s taste. A must-try for Reese’s fans!

Released February 2016. These can often be hard to find. Found at Stop & Shop November 2023.

Reese’s Crunchy Snack Cake

Score: 7 / 10

Front package of Reese's Crunchy Snack Cake.

More stiff than I thought! The thin chocolate shell is a bit hard but when you break through, the inside is a lot softer. This inside is made up of a super thin peanut butter with bits of crunchy peanuts. The other layer is a soft-solid chocolate cake that feels like a mix of a brownie and cake. Together, this really does taste like a sweet Reese’s flavored piece of cake. Especially love the combination of textures.

Released sometime around mid-2021. Found at Speedway gas station October 2023.

Pillsbury Reese’s Cookie Dough Poppins

Score: 5.5 / 10

Front package of Pillsbury Reese's Cookie Dough Poppins.

Reese’s, what happened? As a Reese’s fan, I am hugely disappointed! For the texture, this is a bit gritty, very soft, and almost melts in your mouth. This isn’t exactly like cookie dough, as I feel cookie dough is a bit more thick and pliable. The flavor tastes a lot like a Reese’s, but something is off about it as the chocolate isn’t really there, and it’s mostly the fairly sweet peanut butter that’s present, but even that seems just slightly different. Also, it’s not as sweet as a Reese’s! Basically, it’s just a disappointment.

Released around June 2023. This flavor joins Birthday Cake and Chocolate Chip that released July 2020. Found at Stop & Shop October 2023.

Reese’s Puffs Complete Pancake Kit

Score: 6 / 10

Front package of Reese's Puffs Complete Pancake kit box.

The batter and mix smell exactly like Reese’s, and they even have mini peanut butter chips in them. However, after cooking, the pancake only hints at peanut butter. But at least it includes some Reese’s Puffs to include as a topping. I just wish it had more of that Reese’s taste after cooking, so until then, I would just buy regular pancakes and my own Reese’s toppings.

Released early January 2023. I am not sure if these are limited editions or will stick around. Found at Walmart July 2023.

Back package and directions of Reese's Puffs Complete Pancake kit box.

Betty Crocker Reese’s Brownie Mix

Score: 4 / 10

Front box of Betty Crocker Reese's Brownie Mix.

Slightly worse than regular boxed brownies in terms of quality, taste, and texture, except with a few embedded Reese’s Chips. The texture isn’t very soft or fudgy; it’s almost a little crunchy, thin, and hard after baking. The chocolate flavor is kind of bland, and you can hardly taste the Reese’s.

Released late 2022 / early 2023 alongside other Reese’s baked mixes like cookies, coffee cake, and pancakes. Found in June 2023.

Reese’s Dipped Animal Crackers

Score: 7 / 10

Front of Reese's Dipped Animal Crackers package.

Despite only having a thin layer of peanut wrapped around the cracker and a thin layer of chocolate on top, these were still fairly sweet and tasted as if you were eating a very crunchy Reese’s. Worth a try if you love Reese’s!

Released January 2023. Found at Walmart May 2023.

Back of Reese's Dipped Animal Crackers package including ingredients and nutrition label.

Reese’s Mallow-Top Marshmallow Creme

Score: 9 / 10

Front package of Reese's Mallow-Top Marshmallow Creme Reese's.

Just like regular Reese’s, but definitely not as sweet as they are mellowed out by the marshmallow-flavored tops, albeit the marshmallow is very, very light. My personal opinion, though, is that these are even better than the originals! Such a great, almost s’mores-like peanut combination!

Released several years ago, these have come back every year around the Easter season. Found April 2023 at Walmart.

Back package, ingredients, and nutrition label of Reese's Mallow-Top Marshmallow Creme Reese's.

Reese’s Popcorn

Score: 3 / 10

Front package of Reese's Puffs Cereal Popcorn.

I LOVE Reese’s, but this ain’t it. Not only do they barely smell like Reese’s, but the flavor is justn’t there. It needs more… everything! More of that chocolate and peanut Reese’s flavor. Until then, these will remain pretty plain, although the texture was pretty firm, crunchy, and nice.

Released sometime in late 2021 / early 2022. Found at Stop & Shop April 2023.

Back package including nutrition label and ingredients of Reese's Puffs Cereal Popcorn.

Reese’s Creamy and Crunchy Cups

Score: 8 / 10

Reese's Creamy and Reese's Crunchy King Size package bars.

Both were good and on opposite ends of the spectrum, with the original Reese’s in the middle. Unlike the semi-gritty texture of the originals, the Creamy had a super smooth peanut butter middle, and the Crunchy, as stated, had bits of crunchy peanuts in the center. My personal pick is the Reese’s Creamy!

Released in April 2023 for a limited time until May 17th. This a competition between the two, with Hershey hosting a vote on their website. As of May 7th, Creamy is winning by nearly 100% across the US (see image below). On May 18th, Reese’s will reveal the winner. Found in April 2023.
