Two-bite Muffins

Score: 7 / 10

Yes, it’s more or less a chocolate chip muffin, and also, yes, it does have that traditional Chips Ahoy! Cookie flavoring baked in as well. It’s not overly powerful by any means, but it had me going, “Oh! Is that Chips Ahoy! that I taste? I think so!”

Other than the flavor itself, it really is a standard, decent-quality muffin. It comes across as semi-moderately sweet, and the texture is reasonably moist and fluffy. So, if you’re aiming for a chocolate chip muffin with a different essence while still staying on the track of tradition, these should be up in the conversation.

Found at Aldi in June 2025.

Cinnamon Bun Flavored Chewy Cookies

Score: 6.5 / 10

Compared to their other soft cookies, these taste more plain. There’s a light cinnamon taste throughout the cookie with a bit of creaminess from the embedded white chips. I’m not sure what flavor these white chips are, as they aren’t very sweet; perhaps vanilla or extremely light white chocolate? Either way, this cookie needs a little more flavor—not too much, just a nudge up in creaminess and flavor to really bring out the advertised ‘Cinnamon Bun’ flavor.

Interestingly, the texture is soft and lightly chewy, uniform throughout, and feels artificial.

Released around late April 2025 exclusively to Dollar General. I have read from some reviewers online that it may eventually come to other retailers. Found at Dollar General in June 2025.

Chewy Ice Cream Sandwich Inspired Chocolate Chip Cookies

Score: 7.75 / 10 (at room temperature)

Biting in, it feels almost identical to its regular chewy cookie counterpart, but just the smallest amount softer; it also seems to fall apart between bites because of it. What really makes the cookie is the inner part, which has a thin layer of soft white frosting cream that tastes like a combination of sweet white chocolate and vanilla. Together, the chocolate chip cookie and the filling go fairly well with one another. Overall, in my opinion, it’s definitely an upgrade from the regular chewy cookies.

Trying them frozen, well, long story short, they were disappointing. To put it in perspective, I love freezing most of my treats, but this was different. The texture changed to much harder and almost crunchy. The cookie part itself was almost okay, retaining a small bit of the chewiness, but it was overshadowed by the now-hard center filling (and no, I didn’t feel this accurately resembled ice cream). At the very least, the cookie itself didn’t exhibit any crumbs falling off or the cookie breaking apart compared to when it was at room temperature.

Released late April 2025 for a limited time to celebrate the summer season. Found on the Walmart website in May 2025.

Crunchy Caramel Chocolate Cookies

Score: 6.5 / 10

It smells surprisingly good, like a mix of caramel and chocolate, and the taste is just that. However, the chocolate does come out a little stronger. The overall sweetness is moderate, about average for your typical cookie, and what’s great is that nothing is too artificial or fake. However, I just can’t get over the dryness and crunchiness of the cookie, and there’s no differentiation in the texture. Everything is uniformly crunchy and dry, including the chocolate and caramel bits.

Needless to say, I super prefer the chewy version! Overall, the caramel is pleasant and complements the chocolate; I prefer these over the OGs, but really, just give me the chewy Chips Ahoy!

Released around January 2025. Found at Stop & Shop in May 2025.

Chewy Cookies With Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

Score: 7 / 10 (heated 7.5 / 10)

A moderately peanut butter-tasting cookie, that’s it. It doesn’t really remind me much of Reese’s because the cookie isn’t nearly as sweet, and the Reese’s flavor isn’t all there. They have chopped-up peanut butter cups embedded throughout, but the flavor and sweetness are cut in half compared to what you’d expect of a Reese’s-filled cookie. If you like peanut butter, you’ll find these OK but lacking. I found that heating them up makes them taste a little better, and the texture gets even softer!

Not sure when this was released, although it’s been around for several years. Found at Stop & Shop in October 2024.

Baked Bites

Score: 6.5 / 10

There are several wrapped packages in this box. The texture of these little blocks feels artificial and very similar to their chewy cookie versions. Taste-wise, they’re not as chocolatey as their cookie counterparts. They’re still semi-chocolate and have a decent amount of sweetness, but there also seems to be a hint of vanilla. Other than that, there are a few chocolate chips that add a bit of texture.

Released early January, 2025. Found at Walmart in January 2025.

Hot Cocoa Chewy Cookies

Score: 7 / 10

Moderately sweet, cocoa-tasting cookies; there isn’t much else to it. There are white crunchy chips, but they are quickly overpowered by the overwhelming chocolate taste. I also didn’t see any inside filling whatsoever! At least they’re soft and chewy!

First released temporarily in 2016, this returned in October 2024. Found November 2024 at Walmart.

Chewy Confetti Cake Cookies (New Recipe)

Score: 7.5 / 10

Chewy, but interestingly, it’s a tad dry compared to their other chewy cookies. I expected these to be super sweet, but it feels just right. There’s a noticeable birthday cake/confetti taste that goes beyond the normal vanilla flavor. Compared to the old recipe, these lack the chocolate chips, and instead, they are replaced with large white chips. Overall, these are good, but they need to be a bit more moist.

Originally released in January 2023 as part of their 60th Anniversary, this new recipe seems to have come around September 2024. Found at Stop & Shop in October 2024.

Cookie Pop Popcorn

Score: 7 / 10

Lines of milk chocolate drizzle layer this semi-crunchy popcorn. There are also tiny bits of crunchy cookies that add a little bit to the complexity of the texture. I really appreciate how perfectly sweet these are because, indeed, they will satisfy your sweet tooth without being too much. There’s a light chocolate cookie taste which is enhanced by the drizzle and tiny cookie pieces.

Released some time ago; some reviews date back to around 2020. Found at Ocean State Job Lot. This brand also has other flavors, including Candy Pop and Cereal Pop popcorn, as well as other Cookie Pop flavors. Found August 2024 at Five Below.

Chewy Hershey’s S’mores Cookies

Score: 7 / 10

Compared to other Chips Ahoy! Cookies, these are a lot less sweet. Instead of the usual chocolate cookie taste, it resembles a graham cracker-like taste (which is likely why it’s less sweet). With the addition of the large chocolate chunks and white marshmallow chips, there is an overall s’mores flavor. I wish it was sweeter to really bring out the ingredients more.

Released late April / early May 2024. Exclusive to Walmart, limited edition. Found at Walmart in June 2024.

Chewy Chocolatey Cookies with Hershey’s Fudge Filling

Score: 7 / 10

Contrary to Chips Ahoy! regular fudge-filled cookies, but this double chocolate version is absolutely more chocolatey. It comes across as dark but not bitter, instead having a pleasant semi-sweetness to it. Texture-wise, it’s more dry and crumbly than regular Chewy Chips Ahoy! and its regular fudge-filled counterpart. The inside filling is not at all noticeable, both in terms of flavor and appearance, as it’s the same color and taste as the cookie, and it’s also super thin. I recommend these with milk!

Released in January 2024 and found the same month at Walmart.

Hershey’s Fudge Filled Cookies

Score: 8.5 / 10

Just like a regular chewy Chips Ahoy! cookie, except this has a thin layer of chocolate in the middle—not at all as much as shown on the package. The thin filling really makes them not much different from the chewy originals that don’t have it. It’s decent with milk, though; they are soft already, so you don’t gain much.

Initially released in August 2021 as a limited edition summer release, these have stuck around since.

Chewy Confetti Cake Cookies

Score: 8 / 10

Front package of Chips Ahoy! Chewy Confetti Cake cookies.

A sweet confetti birthday cake taste. They’re chewy like any other Chewy Chips Ahoy! cookies. There’s also a light chocolate taste in the background. If you like birthday cake flavor and chewy cookies, this is definitely something you will enjoy!

Released January 2023 as part of Chips Ahoy!’s 60th birthday. It doesn’t say limited edition, but it may be. Found at Walmart in April 2023.
