Reviews

To note, all the Body + Face Wash products are the same color: blue.

Desert Detour Body + Face Wash
As described on the package, “Vanilla Sands,” it smells like a strong, slightly warm, artificial vanilla, though I don’t get much sand โ€” haha. Its vanilla is that strong Old Spice high school vanilla, powerful though, not overly punchy, where the vanilla does lean towards a reasonably pleasant, fresh, warm vanilla. I also like how it focuses on a single smell rather than a combination of several, like the other washes here. I could see this being used by both women and men due to its warmer, vanilla notes. Lastly, I definitely prefer this over Space Mischief, and it ties with Cosmic Quest.

Space Mischief Body + Face Wash
This wash smells like a nuanced blend of all different things. Honestly, it smells like a generic, strongly scented men’s body wash or a powerful cologne, with no distinct “ah, this is what it is!” moment. It’s definitely trying to appeal to only men, especially younger ones. Further, it really reminds me of what Axe smells like, if you were to imagine it. Unfortunately, this wasn’t my jam; it was simply too teenage-masculine and powerful.

Cosmic Quest Body + Face Wash
This smell reminds me of a combination of Space Mischief and Vanilla Sands, in that it’s not as sharp as Space Mischief nor as warm as Vanilla Sands. Still, it leans slightly towards a generic, fresh, masculine scent; I could see anyone of any age using it. In a sense, it’s a generically fresh, soapy Old Spice smell. It’s refreshing, not harsh, not warm, not cold; it’s simply something I wouldn’t mind using every day, and while it’s fairly strongly scented, it’s not offensive.

Brooklyn Bounce Bar Soap
This bar soap smells like a premium soap you’d find at Whole Foods or some other “organic” store. Its smell is light, smooth, and almost creamy. To me, the smell is a light combination of generic soapy fruit and vanilla. Also, I really like the color of this. While it is a little darker than Yoshi green, I think it’s cool how it’s made up of at least (darker) swirls of both green and white that attempt to represent a Yoshi egg.

In terms of its composition, this bar is hefty and thick and feels premium. Some fairly large pieces of grit do provide a satisfying scrub, though I think there could be more of them, or better yet, smaller and more spread out, because they feel quite large! Lastly, the lather is on the lighter side and produces few suds.

Castle Crush Body Spray
This smells sharp and fruity. Perhaps it’s the citrus they’re trying to replicate? It’s not overly harsh, but it’s clear that they’re trying to make you smell good or hide any odors with a strong masking scent. This citrus smell combines with what I perceive as a generic, cheaper women’s cologne. Again, not too horrible, but definitely not premium nor unique. In fact, I actually feel like I’ve smelled this before, amongst cheap colognes or other scents worn by teenagers.
