Clancy’s Brazilian BBQ Flavored Ridged Potato Chips

Score: 5.25 / 10

Review

A strong cumin and black pepper-like taste, some garlic, a hint of spiciness, and some other general seasoning. I’m not sure if this is Brazilian flavor per se; it’s at the very least a unique combination.

If you want something different, go for it, although I think this may fall unfavorably for many. Personally, I’m glad I tried them; they’re not bad, although I wouldn’t buy them again. The combination of seasonings and bold cumin is off-putting to me.

Lastly, taste aside, the texture is your typical crunchy, ridged chip; it’s good! I could see this pairing well with a creamy-based dip.

Release Date

While I’m unsure of an exact release date, I first spotted these in early July 2025.

Clancy’s Korean BBQ Flavored Ridged Potato Chips

Score: 6.75 / 10

Review

My immediate thought is: sweet! Like, wow, surprisingly so, and yet, it works well. It’s not sugary sweet exactly; at least, there is clearly some seasoning to make you think otherwise.

It possesses a clear Korean seasoning, a hint of soy sauce, and, of course, a good bit of sugar. It all works well, and what’s especially nice is that all the flavors taste authentic and not at all artificial.

Lastly, the chips are reasonably crunchy, about typical of ridged chips. These could be combined with a dip, although I’m not sure which one. Perhaps a spicy one?

Release Date

While I’m unsure of an exact release date, I first spotted these in early July 2025.

Clancy’s Covered Pretzels: Strawberries & Cream, Cookies & Cream, and Birthday Cake

Scores
Strawberries & Cream: 6 / 10
Cookies & Cream: 5.5 / 10
Birthday Cake: 7 / 10

Review

Strawberries & Cream: A moderately sweet and creamy strawberry-vanilla coats a fairly strong-tasting and salty pretzel, which, unfortunately, does get the better of its strawberry counterpart at times. For some people, this is what they prefer, but not me—I want the frosting shell to be the dominant thing. Overall, I found these better and bolder than the Cookies & Cream but not as good as Birthday Cake.

Cookies & Cream: Pretty plain. These are your typical, slightly creamy-coated pretzels. There’s a mildly sweet vanilla taste, but for the most part the salty pretzel overwhelms it. Similarly, since the coating is so thin, you just get mostly a pretzel crunch instead. There are some mini crunchy pieces from the cookie pieces on the coating at least. These just aren’t my thing.

Birthday Cake: These remind me of the Cookies & Creme flavor but are substantially tastier and sweeter. There’s a sweet vanilla, almost birthday cake-like tasting coating, which, unlike the other pretzels here, isn’t overwhelmed by the pretzel—it’s the other way around here! As someone who doesn’t like coated pretzels where the pretzel is the dominant flavor, I really liked these—and of course, birthday cake flavored things are always good! I also almost forgot to mention—the hard candy pieces on these are a definite plus!

Release Date

The earliest reference I can find of Strawberries & Cream and Birthday Cake dates back to May 2024, with references suggesting Birthday Cake came back June 2025. The earliest reference I found for Cookies & Cream dates back to May 2025. All 3 were found July 2025.

Clancy’s Chili Pepper with Lime Kettle Potato Chips

Score: 6.5 / 10

Review

Oh boy, these are seasoned! You can feel, smell, and taste it. Still, it’s not overly burdensome and doesn’t reek of being “too much,” either. For the most part, the flavor has a small spicy chili kick and is complemented by a non-punchy lime. In addition, it has other supporting spices that I can’t quite make out.

In terms of its texture, it’s a kettle chip, albeit I’ve had crunchier ones. It’s good and thick enough; I just expected something a little more, especially given how seasoned and tasty it is. Overall, it tilts toward being a more premium chip because, as you may have guessed, of the seasoning.

Release Date

While I can’t find an exact release date, the earliest mention I’ve seen is from July 2024. Found in June 2025.

Clancy’s Spicy Dill Pickle Flavored Wavy Potato Chips

Score: 6 / 10

Review

The three flavors work so well together: salt, pickle, and a spicy pepper. It doesn’t have as big of a punchy pickle flavor as pickle-exclusive flavors from other brands, nor the slap-in-your-face spicy kick of spicy chips either. Instead, it has both but dialed down with an addition of extra salt.

To me, the spiciness comes out more than the pickle, offering a nice, moderate kick as you eat through them, which does linger a bit if you eat too many at once.

Overall, it’s an interesting, unique chip, although if you’re in it exclusively for the pickle, you might be a little disappointed. Spicy fans may appreciate this enough, however.

Release Date

While I can’t find an exact release date, reviews date back to around August 2025. Found at Aldi in June 2025.

Clancy’s Dill Pickle Flavored Popcorn

Score: 5.75 / 10

Review

Maybe you’ve had pickle-flavored or vinegar-flavored chips, so you already know—these do resemble those flavors, but they’re toned down. It’s precisely and accurately a vinegar-pickle flavor with the punchy taste, but it’s much more tolerable as it’s, well, not as punchy as one! The flavor is pleasant and would be easily enjoyable even if you aren’t into these types of bold flavors.

Lastly, the texture is your regular popcorn. It doesn’t feel too cheap or high quality, just pretty traditional, overall.

Release Date

Reviews and mentions seem to suggest they may have come and gone a few times since around 2022. Found at Aldi in June 2025.

Clancy’s Cheesy Queso Flavored Potato Chips

Score: 6 / 10

Review

My immediate thought: funky. The taste, which I guess is supposed to be the queso part, tastes very artificial. It’s as if they concocted the flavor by using expressly some weird extract, or perhaps it resembles a cheap, off-brand queso dip you find at the dollar store bin.

There is a nice kick to them. It’s not too strong, it’s tolerable, and it does add a positive, flavorful note to the odd queso flavor.

Lastly, the texture feels like a regular chip: thin and lightly crunchy. It doesn’t feel too premium nor cheap, just plain ol’ chips.

Release Date

Released June 2025. Found at Aldi in June 2025.

Clancy’s Mexican Style Street Corn Flavored Kettle Chips

Score: 6.5 / 10

Review

This is weird; they actually mimic street corn really well—too much, one may argue. It actually tastes like you’re eating corn in chip form, and you can absolutely taste the creamy sauce that often gets thrown on it.

Additionally, there’s a noticeable kick to it that will please most people, but if you’re weak to spiciness, stay away. Overall, it’s well seasoned and tastes like the real deal!

Release Date

Released around September 2023. Found at Aldi May 2025.

Clancy’s Cinnamon Churros

Score: 5.5 / 10

Review

What a funky taste. It has cinnamon and sugar, but it also has a clearly noted funky background. Is it plastic? Pure, bitter cinnamon? I don’t know, but either way, something about it is off-putting. They’re reasonably sweet, at least, and the texture is airy and crunchy, a lot like the Taco Bell version, but simply put, not as tasty overall. They’re okay, I guess.

Release Date

I’m not sure of an exact release date, although reviews date back to as early as 2015. Found at Aldi May 2025.

Clancy’s Cuban Sandwich Kettle Chips

Score: 6 / 10

Review

Where’s the flavor? It’s moderately salty and has the lightest flavor of Cuban sandwich seasoning. Don’t get me wrong; they’re decent. It’s just as strongly flavored as other chips. Even more specifically, compared to the competition, like Lay’s Cuban flavored chips, there’s no contest–the Lay’s have a substantially more robust and bold flavor. Texture-wise, these kettle chips are nicely crunchy and feel premium.

Reviews date back to 2021, with some reviewers mentioning limited releases throughout the years. Found March 2025 at Aldi.

Release Date

You can find my review of Lay’s version here. Found April 2025.

Clancy’s Cheesy Garlic Bread Potato Chips

Score: 6 / 10

Review

It resembles cheesy garlic bread but misses the mark. Unfortunately, both the cheese and garlic flavors are too light, unlike actual garlic bread. It also doesn’t help that these are thin chips, whereas they would be better suited as ripple or kettle style to emulate toasted crunchy garlic bread. Overall, these aren’t bad; they’re just lackluster.

You can find a similar review I wrote of 7-Eleven’s version here.

Release Date

Reviews date back to around 2021, with some reviews suggesting they’ve gone in and out of stock throughout the years. Found at Aldi March 2025.

Clancy’s Lucky Crunch Snack Mix

Score: 7.5 / 10

Review

Identical to the Valentine’s Mix I had before! These instead represent Saint Patrick’s Day: the only difference here is that the drizzle and coatings are green!

Release Date

Reviews date back to February 2023. Exclusive for St. Patrick’s Day. Found at Aldi March 2025.

Clancy’s Reuben Kettle Chips

Score: 6.25 / 10

Review

Okay, these are Reuben-flavored, but the taste isn’t all that strong. It has your traditional spices of the sandwich, although it needs a tad extra to really stand out. Aside from that, these are definitely very crunchy, traditional kettle chips!

Release Date

Likely released in February 2025 to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day alongside a Beer Cheese flavor. Exclusive to Aldi. Found March 2025.

Clancy’s Beer Cheese Kettle Chips

Score: 6 / 10

Review

If I had to guess a flavor, I’d almost say these are plain salty kettle chips. There are sort of hints of that beer cheese flavor, but for the most part, it’s sorely lacking. Overall, these resemble traditional, salty kettle chips with a background of something that resembles beer cheese.

Release Date

Likely released in February 2025 to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day alongside a Reuben flavor. Exclusive to Aldi. Found March 2025.

Clancy’s Cupid’s Crunch Snack Mix

Score: 7.5 / 10

Review

Three different types of snacks are in this package mixed together: chocolate sandwich cookies, dipped pretzels, and caramel corn. The mini-coated sandwich cookies remind me of a less sweet, fudge-covered Oreo; they’re good and sweet but feel cheap. Similarly, the coated pretzels taste cheap and are mostly like pretzels, as the coating doesn’t add much flavor aside from some sweetness. Though, it adds a small bit of soft creaminess. Lastly, the caramel popcorn tastes like the ones you get in most tins: sweet, smooth, and crunchy, and maybe a tinge sweeter as they have a small drizzle of red goo.

Overall, this pack is a nice combination of different snacks and flavors. It’s definitely for people who enjoy sweets and crunchy foods.

Release Date

Likely released in early 2024, according to reviews. Found at Aldi February 2025.

Clancy’s Cinnamon & Brown Sugar Sweet Potato Chips

Score: 6 / 10

Review

Lightly crunchy and almost “moist” feeling as it’s a sweet potato chip. The flavor is sweet potato with a touch of cinnamon and a decent amount of sugar. Overall, it’s not bad, just not as great as I thought it’d be.

Release Date

May have been released sometime in fall 2024. Found at Aldi December 2024.

Clancy’s Drizzled Maple Kettle Corn

Score: 7 / 10

Review

Moderately sweet with a very bold pumpkin spice taste. The popcorn doesn’t feel as crunchy as other kettle popcorn, although there is still a satisfying crunch. If you are hesitant about pumpkin spice or pumpkin flavoring, this may feel like too much for you; otherwise, these are pretty good!

Release Date

Released fall 2023. Rereleased around the same time in 2024. Found October 2024.

Clancy’s Pumpkin Spice Yogurt Covered Pretzels

Score: 5.5 / 10

Review

A lot more pretzel than yogurt. Compared to other yogurt-based pretzels, the yogurt isn’t as strong. This yogurt is pumpkiny and creamy, offering a nice twist to regular pretzels. However, personally, I prefer other yogurt pretzels, where the yogurt flavor sticks out a lot more.

Likely released sometime around 2023 or 2024 for the fall season. Found at Aldi September 2024.

Clancy’s Drizzled Maple Kettle Corn

Score: 6.5 / 10

Review

On the sweeter side, especially compared to other drizzled popcorns. It’s mostly sugary tasting with a light maple taste. The texture is reasonably crunchy and soft, sporting a light brown drizzle across each piece. What I liked is that this didn’t taste or feel cheap like other kettle-based popcorn.

Release Date

Likely released sometime around 2023 or 2024 for the fall season. Found at Aldi September 2024.

Clancy’s Carrot Cake Flavored Kettle Corn

Score: 6.5 / 10

Review

Carrot cake is one of my favorites. I know the taste. This isn’t really it. It’s mostly a sweet, sugary-tasting glaze on semi-crunchy popcorn. Unimpressing, however, a decent sweet treat.

Release Date

Released several years ago for the Easter season. Likely releases every year around the same time. Found at Aldi April 2024.

Clancy’s Garlic Mashed Flavored Chips

Score: 7 / 10

Review

Mashed potato-flavored chips… interesting. These are your standard thick, wavy chips, but instead of a traditional garlic taste, this has more of a creamy-like and herb taste to them along with strong garlic. Basically, it’s sort of like you made mashed potatoes, but you dumped in extra garlic by accident, yet it still came out tasty.

Release Date

Released November 2022, exclusively for Aldi’s. These may only come around during that fall time period. This was released alongside a Turkey Stuffing version as well. Found December 2023.
