Milky Way Midnight

Score: 7.25 / 10

Essentially, it resembles the taste and feel of a regular Milky Way, but it seems a tad less sweet and has an emphasis on its dark chocolate side. This loss of sweetness is likely due to the emphasis on the dark chocolate flavor instead of milk chocolate. Don’t get me wrong, this is still a sweet chocolate bar; it’s just that this time, the primary flavor is dark chocolate.

Released in 2020. Found at Walmart.

Tastykake Peanut Butter Kandy Kakes

Score: 7.25 / 10

This is mostly a light cake, which is surrounded by a very thin and sweet chocolate shell and an even thinner layer of peanut butter on top. The cake part is mostly soft and artificial-feeling, and while the peanut and chocolate flavors are there, they are fairly light but still come through. To really improve this, I would definitely add more peanut butter and thicken the chocolate shell more because, as it is, the entire thing feels cheap–get me a Hostess or Little Debbie snack!

I’m unsure of an exact release date, although they’ve likely been around for some time. Found at Stop & Shop.

Hostess Vanilla Cupcakes, Limited Edition Easter / Spring Version

Score: 7.5 / 10

Reasonably sweet, moist, thick, and creamy artificial vanilla cupcakes. And, despite being an artificial vanilla, they’re still pretty darn good; just don’t expect a premium-tasting, bold vanilla–this runs on the sugary-tasting side. The filling inside complements the dense, moist texture of the cake well, and the thin line of soft-stiff frosting on top adds a touch more to the sweetness and texture. Overall, personally, I still prefer the chocolate ones!

While I’m not sure of an exact release date, they were likely introduced around 2013 or shortly afterward, only to come around during later Easter seasons. These are also likely identical to the Christmas version: Hostess Holiday Cupcakes as well. Found at Stop & Shop.

Hostess Frosted Golden Cake Cupcakes

Score: 8 / 10

Despite it looking like it has the same cupcake cake, for some reason, these are different than the other Hostess cupcakes, including the vanilla ones. The cake itself leans more on a buttery side with a dash of vanilla. It’s also moister than its vanilla counterpart. The small bit of chocolate on top adds a background of sweet milk chocolate, which is nice. Overall, moderately sweet, and in my opinion, better than vanilla and likely on par with my favorite, the all-chocolate version.

While I can’t find an exact release date, these have likely been around for some time. Found at Stop & Shop.

Kinder Kinderini Cookies

Score: 6 / 10

It is a very rich, buttery, creamy-tasting cookie. The flavor is mostly butter with a hint of biscuity vanilla and chocolate. It definitely tastes premium, especially compared to other similar biscuits.

I thought the chocolate part was chocolate fudge of sorts, like other chocolate-biscuit cookies, but it’s literally just chocolate-flavored biscuit. Most notably, all of these “Kinderini” are well decorated and well-emoted like the package, with everything made of biscuit except the eyes, which appear to have an extremely thin glaze.

Released in the US in late January 2025. Found at Stop & Shop.

ONE Cookies ‘n’ Creme Protein Bar

Score: 7 / 10

The first thing I noticed is that these are absolutely loaded with little chocolate chips–actually, this whole bar resembles a Hershey Cookies ‘n’ Creme bar! The smell and even the taste (mostly) are just like it. I say mostly because it combines the flavor of the traditional Hershey Cookies ‘n’ Creme bar with a traditional protein-tasting bar and texture. Speaking of the texture, it’s soft-solid, slightly chewy, and easy to bite through; it’s quite pleasant overall. So basically, if you want the taste of a Hershey Cookies ‘n’ Creme bar mixed with a protein bar, this is exactly it.

Released June 2024, along with a Reese’s Peanut Butter Lovers version. Found at Five Below.

Howlers Souracha

Score: 4 / 10

It has a small kick mixed with some sugar and a weird flavor. I can’t really describe this flavor. It’s like a fruit of sorts, but the slight spiciness and artificialness really throw it off. It’s just… weird. At least the texture is kind of cool; it oozes out as you squeeze the bottle!

Released around August 2024. Found at Five Below.

Toxic Waste Slime Licker Sour-Filled Milk Chocolate Bar, Blue Razz and Strawberry

Score: 5 / 10 (for both)

Both are the same, aside from the gooey flavor inside. A sweet milk chocolate shell wraps around a thin and super gooey and sticky artificial berry sour inside. Both the raspberry and blueberry insides are very clearly sweet and sour and have that traditional artificial candy taste you get from Toxic Waste candies. The bar breaks apart easily, reminding me of a Ghirardelli-filled chocolate square, and provides a light crunch when biting in, which is very pleasant. But frankly, I just can’t get over the forced artificial sour mixed with the chocolate. It’s not horrible, but it’s not good, either. Interesting concept, just not for me.

Released November 28, 2023. Found at Five Below.

Be Happy Snacks Birthday Cake Flavored Popcorn

Score: 7.25 / 10

For popcorn, this is sweet! It’s definitely rocking vanilla birthday all the way. The texture is equally great, with each piece covered in an extremely creamy, white, and sweet glaze. Seriously, it makes the popcorn feel so good; it’s super smooth and gives it a pleasantly soft outer texture. However, unfortunately, there aren’t sprinkles, but that hardly detracts! This popcorn is overall soft and perfectly crunchy, very sweet, and perhaps one of my favorite popcorns I’ve had to date!

I’m unsure of a release date, although I first spotted these in April 2025 at Walmart.

Be Happy Snacks Cotton Candy Flavored Popcorn

Score: 5 / 10

When I opened this bag, I smelled a faint hint of sweet vanilla, and, well, I really hoped it would at least taste like that. Unfortunately, this is plain popcorn. You can’t convince me otherwise. Maybe there’s a slight dash of sugar–that’s it. Texture-wise, they’re reasonably soft and crunchy, about average for your typical popcorn, although definitely not at all buttery or salty. So, yeah, this is as plain as you can probably get!

I’m unsure of a release date, although I first spotted these in April 2025 at Walmart.
