Reviewing Krusteaz Churro Waffles, Pizza Hut Hot Honey Pizza, Snickers Cookie Dough, & More

So much more premium tasting and less sweet than your typical run-of-the-mill Russel Stover or Whitman Truffles. The shells on these are thick, semi-sweet, and contain a sweet tasting filling. Every part of it screams premium and each truffle has a distinct, bold flavor. Also, they’re so cutely decorated!

Not sure when this Aldi Valentine’s exclusive was released.

It smells so good, so very sweet and cinnamony, it’s surely good, right? Not really. The flavor is really muted after cooking. Really, it’s plain and any cinnamon seems to have been cooked out–just get a plain, cheaper box of buttery waffle mix honestly. At least the directions were straightforward, yet, these waffles took ages to darken and get even semi-crunchy! In fact, no matter how long I cooked them, they remained pretty soft. In the end, you’ll need to add your own cinnamon and sugar to this.

Too dry and crumbly to be a cookie dough. The taste is a moderately sweet bit of cookie dough and on the side of a peanuty snickers. Needs to be more moist and chewy, and perhaps lean more towards that of a traditional Snickers flavor.

Like cookie dough but less soft, and more crumbly and dry. I don’t really taste much Twix, granted, there’s barely in this “cookie dough” from the looks of it. It mostly tastes like cookie dough with an odd artificial aftertaste. They really need to come back to the table to redo the texture part and bring along more of the Twix flavor.

A firm-soft chewy gummy. It tastes a lot like a marshmallow, even the sweetness level is about the same. If you somehow want a marshmallow in a gummy form, this is for you. For me though, I’d prefer just to eat a regular marshmallow.

Modeled after Space Dunk Oreos, these come out even more amazing! The cookie base is made of crumbled Oreos with a triple texture: moist, chewy, and slightly crumbly. There’s an extremely sweet sugary tasting frosting on top that does come across as artificial but for whatever reason, it just works! This frosting reminds me a lot of the Lofthouse Cookies’ frosting. These are especially great in milk just like an Oreo as well! Unfortunately, these don’t have popping candy like Space Dunk Oreos.

Brownie Batter and Boston Creme stuffed donuts are my absolute favorites. Unfortunately, it seems brownie batter is only scheduled for specific holidays making them quite rare to find!

Nonetheless, Dunkin’s Brownie Batter Heart donuts are stuffed with thick, soft, super sweet chocolate ganache that tastes amazing. Is it brownie batter? Not really, but who cares! The Strawberry Frosted Heart contains their famous Boston Creme, and it makes me wonder why we don’t have a regular strawberry frosted Boston Creme donut in the first place.

These have been released for several years around the Valentine’s holiday. For 2024, they were available from February 1 – 21.

Pizza Hut pizza gives me nostalgia of cafeteria pizza. The dough is thick and fluffy, and the cheese and sauce is thin. Flavor wise, there isn’t much there aside from the drizzle of the hot honey sauce. It gives it a miniscule sweet spicy kick… that’s about it. Even the pepperoni felt thin and not really crunchy–what a letdown! Pizza Hut really should add some more seasoning to bring out their flavors.

Very spicy and even more, the spiciness lingers around for a long time! They’re substantially more spicy than the pizza version as these are soaked in the stuff. If anything, I wish they were more sweet and honey tasting because the spiciness overwhelms it all. The meat was soft and cooked well. Overall, get these if you’re into spicy food otherwise you won’t have a good time.

Glazed – Nice firm layer of glaze, pulls apart easily, soft, a little moist, fairly sweet. A well done glazed donut. Nothing too crazy here.

Plain – Like the glazed, it’s soft, plain, a little moist, and even flavorful; almost has a semisweet taste. It feels like a step-up from your average plain donut.

Chocolate Covered – Exactly like the plain donut but with a thin, firm, semi-crunchy chocolate shell. The chocolate shell is semi-sweet and mostly just adds a layer of texture as the flavor isn’t too noticable.

Given Entenmann’s long history (debuting 1898), they’ve made donuts for quite some time, although I’m not sure about the details regarding these flavors.
