Auntie Anne’s Oreo Topped Pretzel Nuggets

Score: 6 / 10

These are not nearly as good as many of their other pretzel nuggets; in fact, these might be the worst I’ve had. It comes out just… okay. Honestly, I was so hyped because they looked so good, but wow, they are underwhelming.

A glob of soft, thin cookies and cream flavored frosting with Oreo bits sits on top. It’s pretty sweet and cheap-feeling overall. Even more so, since the nuggets are large, the frosting isn’t very impactful. I wish there was more of it, or perhaps it was thicker. At the very least, it resembles the flavors of an Oreo.

What these pretzels need is a type of coating to really enhance the flavor because outside of the lackluster frosting, there isn’t much here. A coat of cookies would make this so much better!

Released in April 2025.

Tate’s Bake Shop Vanilla Latte Cookies

Score: 5.75 / 10

A thin-ish, fairly crunchy cookie. It does feel somewhat airy and feels on the cheaper side due to this, in my opinion… perhaps I just really prefer chewy cookies!

Anyway, the taste—it’s noticeable but light, rocking a non-punchy vanilla latte taste. It leans towards its creamy vanilla side, while the coffee flavor sits more in the background. It’s pleasant, not too sweet, and is mostly unoffensive. Overall, these aren’t bad; however, I’d prefer something sweeter to really bring out the flavors.

Released early May 2025 for a limited time. Found at Walmart.

JOYRIDE Candy Crunchy Gummy Busters Candy Ice Pop Mix

Score: 5 / 10

Gummies? Definitely not! The inner part is very soft and nearly melts in your mouth! Contrasting that, the sprinkles on the outside provide very light, crunchy bits that appear on the outside.

Composition aside, the flavor is an indecipherable fruit candy that’s decently sweet. Not too artificial nor too punchy. The candies are inoffensive and, at the same time, not very impressive, both in terms of the supposed gummy texture and flavor. They’re not something I’d reach for again, personally.

I’m unsure of an exact release date. Found at Target.

Pringles Spicy Guacamole

Score: 6 / 10

As advertised, these do indeed have a kick, although the guacamole feels a lot lighter compared to its spicy duo. This means the spiciness does take over after a few chips, and frankly, I was hoping it was the opposite. Don’t get me wrong, they aren’t super spicy, but if you dislike spicy stuff, stay away.

In addition, there are clearly other amounts of seasonings with it all that work decently enough to complement what’s here but don’t stand out necessarily. I think it’s your traditional guacamole spices. Other than that, these are okay, especially if you want a spicier flavor.

Initially released many years ago, they’ve come back in June 2025. Found at Stop & Shop.

Goetze’s Caramel Creams Honey Bun

Score: 5.5 / 10

A combination of soft and chewy with a soft, creamy center. Instead of the usual caramel from the original version, these instead have a very light, artificial, cinnamony-sugary taste. It’s not bad, but it’s definitely not great either. Simply put, it tastes a bit too artificial and actually less sweet than I’d personally like. I also prefer the originals slightly more, as they’re sweeter.

Likely released in June 2025. Found at Dollar Tree.

Hi-Chew Dessert Mix

Score: 5.5 / 10

Each piece indeed has an artificial fruity-like flavor coupled with a mild amount of sweetness. The taste is just okay; nothing is really too pronounced and seems to be dimmed down by the thick, chewy texture. Indeed, the flavors sort of resemble what they advertise, but they taste very cheap and artificial. If you really like cheap-feeling, chewy things, you may at least somewhat enjoy this more than I.

At the very least, I feel like the flavors need to be bolder and the candy as a whole needs to be a little sweeter to bring them out.

Released April 3, 2025. Found at Spencer’s.

Royal Family Tropical Fruity Mochi

Score: 5 / 10

Plain. Bland. Just amazingly uninteresting. Each flavor only has a hint of some vague artificial fruit flavor along with a minuscule amount of sweetness. In addition, the texture feels cheap as it’s not as thick-feeling as other mochi, and frankly, something about it just feels… weird.

Perhaps one of the worst mochi I’ve had, but at the very least, it’s tolerable.

I’m unsure of an exact release date. Found at Spencer’s.

Raindrops Soft Gummy Mix Pizza

Score: 4.5 / 10

Gummy pizza is much more plain than any pizza I’ve had. The gummies range from zero flavor to a lightly sweet artificial fruit flavor. The fruity ones aren’t bad, but it all feels cheap. This includes the texture, which is soft and just dollar store worthy at most.

Basically, worthless gummies packaged semi-nicely. They’re tolerable, I suppose.

I’m unsure when this was released. Found at Dave & Buster’s.

Starburst Lollipops

Score: 5.75 / 10

Compared to regular Starbursts, these are less punchy and about the same level of sweetness, if that makes sense. These basically are more unoffending and more tolerable, offering similar fruity tastes to their counterparts. Texture-wise, it’s a regular lollipop with a soft-ish inside.

Released June 2021. Found at Dave & Buster’s.

IHOP Mexican Tres Leches Pancakes

Score: 6.5 / 10

The pancakes themselves remind me of those hotcakes from McDonald’s. Overall, they’re decent but lack a lot of any real buttery, deserved flavor. All the flavor comes from the side of condiments, which are, unfortunately, lackluster on their own, and frankly, IHOP needs to provide a lot more of them for them to even make a dent.

Aside from the syrup, you have a sweet, semi-thick caramel—wait, isn’t this supposed to be dulce de leche? Anyway, I still like it. It brings a lot of the sugary sweetness these pancakes need, and I also like how dense it is. This alone may be the standout of everything here.

At the same time, the “tres leches” white sauce is thin and tastes mostly like a vanilla frosting that was melted down in the microwave. It’s not bad, but the thinness and lack of authentic flavor cheapen the experience. Most importantly, tres leches is supposed to soak and soften whatever it’s in, and here, there simply isn’t enough of this white sauce to have anywhere close to that effect.

Released March 2018.
