Leclerc Celebration S’mores Style Truffle Graham Flavored Cookies

Score: 7.5 / 10

A great combination of textures! The top chocolate shell is soft, thin, and a little hard, and when you bite in, it reveals a thin layer of a soft, marshmallow-like goo—it’s all quite satisfying! Not to mention, the bottom is a soft graham cracker, kind of resembling a thicker Ritz Cracker, if that makes sense.

Together, it all comes across as reasonably sweet, and, honestly, in terms of a s’more, it does a pretty good job at replicating it. The textures are wonderful, the flavors are balanced, and the sweetness is just about right. I especially like how authentic it tastes. For example, none of the parts come across as artificial or off—the chocolate is on the darker side and tastes fine, the marshmallow part is more or less marshmallow flavored, and the graham cracker is, well, graham cracker.

While I’m unsure of an exact release date, reviews date back to around mid-2022. Found at Ocean State Job Lot.

Friendly Farms Chocolate and Marshmallow Whipped Cream

Score: 7.5 / 10 (for both)

Chocolate: So, so chocolatey and sweet! It’s like milk chocolate stringed together in a thick, whipped form—I love it! Compared to regular whipped cream, this is much sweeter, to say the least, and of course, it’s chocolate! I found that this goes great with anything or nothing—really, just straight to the mouth or straight to a double chocolate cake—anything works!

Marshmallow: Sweet and sugary, which is, well, basically marshmallow! Notably, these are sweeter than your plain ol’ marshmallows you find bagged at the store as well as your typical whipped creams. It also feels premium, coming across as a smidge thicker than what you typically may be used to.

I’m unsure of release dates for either of these. Found at Aldi.

Fannie May S’mores Chocolate Mix

Score: 7.5 / 10

More or less, these are s’mores in bite-size form. Soft, chewy marshmallows are covered with a fairly sweet milk chocolate, in addition to tiny graham crackers that provide a small crunch throughout. What’s most interesting is that many of the pieces are separate, so you don’t always get the full s’more experience; for example, a chocolate-covered marshmallow with no graham cracker or an equally covered graham cracker with no marshmallow.

Still, despite the inconsistencies, it’s good! They’re a bit sweeter than regular s’mores due to the chocolate being on the sweeter side, but aside from that, these are pretty accurate in terms of flavor and texture to regular s’mores.

JOYRIDE Candy Sour Rainbow Gummy Ropes

Score: 5.5 / 10

These are quite dull-looking, nowhere near as vibrant as shown on the packaging. The filling is also not as generous as shown either.

Despite the inconsistencies, overall, they’re quite soft and feel more premium than other filled ropes. They feel softer without being too chewy—basically, the mouthfeel is pretty good. I also appreciate the mini sugar crystals attached to them.

Unfortunately, I can’t discern what flavor it is. It’s a decently sweet, fruity-like flavor that doesn’t taste too artificial or fake. For a candy, it tastes premium and not as sweet as other filled ropes, which, personally, is something I much prefer—something sweeter with stronger flavors. They’re okay candy ropes, but like other high-end-looking products, they fall into the trap of just being alright with no distinction or pizzazz.

While I’m unsure of an exact release date, the company was founded in 2022. Found on the Target website.

Hans Freitag Desiree Assortment of Wafers

Score: 6 / 10

Despite advertising them as being an assortment, they’re all pretty plain. The chocolate and vanilla, represented in the forms of soft creams and chocolate shells, are, at most, semi-sweet. They’re a hint sweeter than your cheap-o wafers, but not by much. This results in both the chocolate and flavor flavors not having much distinction from one another. So, really, despite the multiple forms, flavor-wise, they all taste more or less the same.

Anyway, at least the wafer parts feel somewhat premium, as they’re reasonably thick and have a solid wafer flavor. But, like the flavor, the texture experience and mouthfeel you get from these are all nearly the same as well. Aside from the one that’s entirely coated in chocolate, the rest feel too identical to one another. Still, I did find the texture to be a standout, although the bar was already set low by the flavor. Overall, better than cheap wafers, though, not by too much.

Witor’s Milk Chocolate Truffle

Score: 7.5 / 10

Considering this is a European-based chocolate treat, I expected something more tame, but I got the full American experience! A semi-thin, sweet chocolate is molded around what seems to be pure frosting. Yup, you heard me, frosting!

This frosting resembles the canned stuff you buy both in terms of texture and flavor. For example, when you open a can up, it’s still pretty solid yet soft—and indeed, the white filling in this seems identical! Flavor-wise, it’s the same experience: it’s sugary sweet with no real discernible flavor—maybe a hint of a creamy vanilla? I can’t really tell.

Either way, if there are differences between this filling and pure frosting, it’s the fact that the filling in these contains tiny, lightly crunchy pieces that add to the overall experience. And most notably, the picture of these on the package doesn’t lie! The shell, while on the thinner side, does indeed have that much of the white sugary goodness on the inside—it’s so much of it. And honestly, despite loving sweets, they could have sacrificed a little bit of the shell for the cream in order to provide more of a chocolatey crunch to the experience.

Nature Valley Sweet & Salty Nut Turtle Granola Bars

Score: 7 / 10

So, first off, those regular chewy granola bars you find in stores from these companies have always tasted cheap and fake to me, and, well, these aren’t too different. These simply have a small layer of cream at the bottom as well as a few soft, embedded peanut pieces. So in total, you get a cheap granola flavor with a light touch of creamy peanut and a hint of chocolate.

And going back, these still feel relatively cheap, chewy, and artificial. They’re quite sugary sweet, and the flavors represented aren’t that bold; it’s mostly just sweet for being sweet. In the end, kind of a letdown and definitely not representative of the turtle-type flavor.

While I’m unsure of an exact release date, reviews date back to February 2025. Found at Stop & Shop.
