Reviewing Better Crocker Oreo Baked Mixs, Oreo Candy Canes, & More

I like peppermint, and I like truffles, but the cocoa dust on these feels too dry, and the flavor is off-putting. There’s a light peppermint flavor alongside it all, too, which doesn’t help it. They’re semi-sweet, but unfortunately, I can’t stand the taste of this dry cocoa powder.

Not sure when this was released, although reviews date back to around November 2024 on Target’s website. Likely limited to the Christmas season. Found at Target.

Warning: Only make this in an 8×8 inch pan. The ingredients they give you only make enough to fit that pan; any bigger, and you’ll be really stretching things thin. Additionally, the directions suggest you have a hand mixer for the cheesecake portion, although I mixed it by hand. Lastly, I baked it for a few minutes under the recommended time as it cooks quickly.

The brownie is very, very soft, as is the cream cheese. Flavor-wise, it’s semi-dark, not very sweet, and doesn’t have a whole lot of flavor. Even the cream cheese layer is bland and doesn’t add much of anything. Overall, these need more sugar and bolder flavors, otherwise, it’ll remain a medicore, soft brownie.

Oreo truffles are already easy to make, and this box makes them even easier. A little bit of butter, water, and, most importantly, some fridge time make these tasty. They’re soft and chunky with bits of crunch from the crumbled Oreos. They’re chocolatey and, overall, taste like moderately sweet crumbled-up cookies. If you have a few extra minutes and want to save money, buy some Oreos, mix them with cream cheese, and create truffles that way.

These make several small little pies. Unfortunately, I messed up the white cream filling, although I tasted it; it was on the plainer side. The cookie itself is semi-dark and semi-sweet; definitely not Oreo dark and sweet. They’re lightly crunchy on the outside with a soft inside, and they fall apart kind of easily due to how airy it is. Overall, they are very basic, almost cheap semi-dark cookies; just get boxed chocolate cookies and frosting instead.

It’s cheap tasting, to say the least, especially compared to other house kits. The cookie itself tastes dry, breaks apart easily, and has a light, almost stale, gingerbread taste. Additionally, the crunchy candies it comes with feel incredibly cheap, as does the frosting. Granted, there is a decent amount of frosting to decorate, although the kit only comes with white frosting! There need to be more options!

Its taste resembles an artificial, knock-off version of an Oreo. It’s not bad in any sense, as you can taste the chocolate and creme; it just comes across as very artificial. The texture is that of a typical candy cane.

The frozen cookie dough by itself makes for a good snack. It’s fairly sweet and has a distinct red velvet cookie dough flavor with a hint of chocolate from the embedded chocolate chips. The texture is rich and dense. To me, the taste and texture of this make for a much better treat than its cooked counterpart.

When cooked, it’s your average Pillsbury cookie, texture-wise, at least. It is a lightly crunchy cookie overall, crispy on the outside, a bit thin and airy, and it almost has a soft inside but doesn’t quite make it. It’s pleasantly sweet with a light red velvet and chocolate taste. Personally, I’m simply not a fan of these thin, crunchy cookies. Additionally, I noticed the Pillsbury cream cheese frosting was too sweet for this cookie as it overshadowed the red velvet and chocolate flavors; it was just too much.

It’s similar to soft peanut M&M’s, except with a lighter peanut taste in addition to a super light fruit jelly flavor (I’m not sure exactly what flavor jelly it is, though). Together, it’s a good, mostly chocolate-peanut M&M. The inside texture resembles soft-solid peanut butter, and the outside is a chocolate shell; it’s quite a thick M&M!

Extremely creamy and smooth, both in terms of taste and texture. The flavor is super light, creamy, and milky from the filling and light raspberry from the shell that is not at all punchy; it’s all very pleasant to eat. If you like Lindt Truffles, you’ll enjoy these!

This is exactly–exactly like an Oreo in cookie form. The cookie-base feels like ground-up Oreo cookies; it’s soft and slightly moist and chewy. Most notably, the cream on top is very close to the center of an Oreo in terms of texture and flavor. Due to the hunk of cream, this cookie comes out on the sweeter side.
