Frankford SpongeBob SquarePants Sour Krabby Patties

Score: 6.75 / 10

Review

These are so much better than regular Krabby Patties, not to mention literally most other sour candies on the shelf! They’re super sugary sweet with an artificial fruity-like candy taste and have a noticeable sour punch, especially compared to other sour candies. It genuinely feels like they went above and beyond here, and this is coming from someone who is often disappointed by sour candies and gummies!

The composition of these is thick gummies that are soft and chewy enough to be very enjoyable. They don’t feel too hard or cheap whatsoever! I also love how it has multiple layers. Again, like the flavor, it feels a step ahead of its competitors!

These are so darn tasty, sweet, and sour! Definitely give these a go if you’re into sour candies.

Release Date

Originally released in 2007 or potentially as early as 2005, they have returned around March 2025. Found at Dollar Tree in mid-August 2025.

Sour Punch Ice Cream Truck Bites

Score: 5.5 / 10

Review

These all taste mostly similar, with slightly different fruit-like flavors. I’m not sure if each accurately resembles what they’re supposed to, as much of the flavor is simply sugar. Most of the difference comes from the amount of sweetness and sourness; each piece is at a different level to some small degree. None of these are super bold, yet none are too light either.

They’re on the thinner, circular side and lightly chewy. They don’t really feel super pricey or fancy, and overall, they don’t resemble a dollar candy either.

Not bad, not great. I wish the flavors were more accurate, if anything.

Release Date

While I can’t find a release date, the earliest review I can find dates back to June 2023. Found at Dollar Tree in mid-August 2025.

Whole Foods 365 Birthday Cake Sandwich Cremes

Score: 6.25 / 10

Review

Ugh, the cookie part brings these down! It’s actually not bad by itself, a slightly buttery, plain-ish cookie; however, the frosting can’t keep up.

I love the frosting; it has little crunchy, colorful bits and tastes like a sweet vanilla birthday cake frosting you can find in a can, yum! In a way, it tastes like Dunkaroos! However, since there’s so little of it and the cookie itself is more on the bland side, it brings it down too much! I actually found myself peeling it off and throwing away the cookie!

Its texture is typical, about the same as most other sandwich cookies. They aren’t too hard or rough and provide a nice crunch; unfortunately, the cream doesn’t do much, as it’s quite thin.

These could be so much better if they simply doubled or tripled the inner cream. Also, while these are similar to Golden Oreos, they feel a smidge less sweet overall, and notably, the birthday cake flavor here feels more authentic and less fake than its Oreo Birthday Cake cousin.

Release Date

While I can’t find a release date, the earliest review I could find dates back to August 2021. Found at Whole Foods in mid-August 2025.

Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Caramel Squares

Score: 7.25 / 10

Review

I didn’t expect these to have such a strong, pronounced pumpkin pie spice taste. It’s authentic and hits you if you aren’t expecting it. You can taste it all, from the cinnamon to the nutmeg and other punchy spices. It also reminds me of a Christmas-type spice flavor if you’ve ever had that.

What makes it better, though, is the light caramel and milk chocolate taste that supports it in the background while providing some appreciable creaminess. All the flavors work well together, but again, they definitely side much more with their own pumpkin spice side!

Overall, these are fairly sugary sweet and have the same texture as their other squares: a mild, snappy crunch and a gooey center.

Release Date

Reviews date back as early as 2016, with mentions of rereleases in later years. Found on the Walmart website in mid-August 2025.

CakeBites Supremes Vanilla Swirl

Score: 8 / 10

Review

I know it looks like Zebra Cakes, and it does absolutely remind me of them, but perhaps even better! These are more authentically vanilla tasting, and in addition, the cake here is quite thick and soft; it has a great mouthfeel when you bite in! Interestingly, the shells of these and Zebra Cakes appear identical to me—kind of a smooth, filmy-like, semi-thick covering. Anyway, from the lightly crunchy shell to the thick, sweet inside cake, it’s a very pleasant (assuming you love sugar) and sweet treat!

Overall, they’re basically your sweet vanilla snack cake, but more premium tasting and feeling. None of it comes across as off-putting or too artificial; it’s simply a super sweet, thick vanilla cake.

One final thing: Try these fridged!

Release Date

Four different Supremes varieties were released together early April 2025: Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Vanilla Swirl, Chocolate Cream, and Frosted Strawberry Shortcake. Found on the Walmart website in mid-August 2025.

Little Debbie Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal Creme Pies

Score: 7.5 / 10

Review

I love the color of the orange frosting; however, I wish I could like the flavor more. Its filling is a sugary pumpkin spice with a definite hit of that spice—it almost stings your mouth just slightly if you get too much of that frosting, perhaps even having a hint of bitterness. Unfortunately, though, the filling is on the thinner side.

Still, like their other snacks, these are pretty sweet, but I don’t think they’re overly so. It’s able to balance the flavor and sweetness reasonably well. Not to mention, the flavors from the oatmeal cookie parts complement the spicy pumpkin just enough to remind you of fall!

Flavor aside, the texture is soft, semi-dense, and lightly chewy. No different than their other cream pies! I’m glad they released these; they’re a nice variation to their traditional cream pies!

Release Date

Released early August 2025. Found mid-August 2025 on the Walmart website.

Barebells White Chocolate Almond Protein Bar

Score: 7 / 10

Review

I bit into this without fully reading the package, and I thought it tasted like a form of vanilla, but after reading it and chewing through, I guess it’s actually more of a white chocolate-like flavor, or some combo of the two. Also, it does say almond, but… where? There’s no nutty taste here!

To me, it has your typical artificial protein bar taste, sporting some mix of vanilla and white chocolate. It’s not too sweet and is milder than other sweeter protein bars I’ve had. This bar really feels fairly standard overall.

The texture is soft, reasonably thick, and a bit chewy. It has some embedded bits and, combined with the few crunchy almond pieces on top, provides a small contrast to the chewiness.

Release Date

I’m unsure of a release date. Found mid-August 2025 at the Vitamin Shoppe.

Pepperidge Farm Soft Baked Pumpkin Cheesecake Cookies

Score: 7 / 10

Review

Extremely soft, moist, and chewy, more so than many other packaged cookies. The flavor is between mild and moderately sweet and is overall quite pleasant. With this sweetness is a lightish but noticeable, authentic, slightly bitter pumpkin taste. I’m not sure if I get any cheesecake; however, there are super soft white chocolate chips in the cookie, but I don’t think they contribute much.

These have a great moist texture, and the flavor is decent enough. Personally, I’d much prefer something a little sweeter and more creamy.

Nerds Candy Corn

Score: 5.5 / 10

Review

These sort of resemble the look of candy corn, the shape, anyway, but everything else is different. These have your typical sweet, punchy, almost sour Nerds taste. The texture is mostly this artificial soft-hard exterior that’s easy to bite through with a slightly softer inside. Further, each color tastes more or less the same, sporting that punchy artificial candy fruit taste.

Basically, Nerds in a different shape.

Release Date

Released around fall 2021 for the Halloween season. Found mid-August 2025 at Target.

Jennies Coconut Bites with Cranberries, Chia Seeds, Goji & Chocolate

Score: 7.25 / 10

Review

I love the texture of these: very thick, chewy, and soft. They’re nearly identical to a coconut macaroon—you can feel the strings of coconut, though, this has embedded fruit pieces which add a touch of additional fruity texture to it.

These fall on a mildly sweet level, especially compared to other coconut and macaroon treats I’ve had. It’s mostly coconut tasting with a hint of fruit and something else lurking in the background; however, I’m not quite sure what it is. Notably, the chocolate, unfortunately, doesn’t feel at all present.

Overall, it’s more or less a mildly sweet macaroon. The mouthfeel is great, and the flavor is nuanced enough to appreciate.

Release Date

I’m unsure of a release date. Found mid-August 2025 on the Vitacost website.

Lily’s Peanut Butter Creme Filled 55% Cacao Bar and Cookies & Creme White Chocolate Style Bar

Scores:
Cookies & Creme: 7 / 10
Peanut Butter Filled 55% Cacao Bar: 5 / 10

Review

Cookies & Creme: If you put this and a regular Hershey cookies and cream bar in front of me, I’d say they’re almost identical. Almost.

Compared to the Hershey’s bar, these are a little less sweet and creamy overall. They still retain light crunches from the embedded cookie pieces, and a decent amount of creaminess that coincides with it, though they do have a slightly artificial-like white chocolate taste. It almost feels like a knockoff brand of Hershey’s.

Overall, it’s not a bad cookies and cream bar; it’s just that other popular versions like Hershey are better in almost every metric by a small margin. That is, unless you wanted something a little bit less sweet—then again, you’re sacrificing creaminess and getting more of an artificial-ish taste as a replacement.

Peanut Butter Filled 55% Cacao Bar:The dark, mildly bitter taste covers most of the peanut butter flavor. It also doesn’t help that the layer of this PB is a lot smaller than the shell it’s covered by—there’s definitely a larger portion of chocolate here. Essentially, it’s mostly dark chocolate with a mild, non-sweet peanutty taste.

The texture of this bar is soft with an equally soft-solid peanut center. The texture is basically uniform, with no big discernible difference between the shell and filling.

As a peanut butter lover, I’m disappointed. I expected it to be dark, but not this dark, and I was also hoping for some sweetness to bring out the peanut flavor more. Instead, this falls more on the blander side. If you enjoy darker chocolates, you might get a kick out of this; otherwise, likely not so much.

Release Date

I’m unsure of a release date for the Peanut Butter Creme Filled one, although Cookies & Creme was released in March 2020 alongside Original White Chocolate and Birthday Cake flavors. Found mid-August 2025 on the Vitacost website.
