by Victor Martelle

Yield: Many cake balls

  • small package of medium or large marshmallows
  • box of strawberry cake mix (and its needed ingredients)
  • 1-2 cups strawberry or vanilla frosting
  • 1-2 cups strawberry or vanilla candy melts (for dipping)
  • bottle of purple sprinkles
  • other decorations (optional)

  • mixing bowl
  • cake bake pan
  • bowl for candy melts
  • parchment paper

Let’s Make It!

  1. Bake the cake according to the directions.
  2. When done baking, let cool.
  3. Crumble and combine cake and 1 cup of frosting together in mixing bowl. If the consistency is crumbly, add more frosting.
  4. Break apart marshmallows into small-medium pieces. Shape cake around each piece and round them into balls using your hand and palm. Place onto a parchment lined dish.
  1. Place cake balls in fridge or freezer for 30 minutes (optional but preferred).
  2. Put sprinkles into a bowl.
  3. Place the candy melts in a bowl and microwave for a few seconds, stir, repeat until melted.
  4. Take the cake balls and dunk into the melted candy melts. Use a fork to take out, tap against the inside side of the bowl to get off excess.
  5. Roll each cookie ball into the bowl of sprinkles.
  6. Place the balls onto a parchment lined dish.
  1. Enjoy! Place in the microwave for 20-30 seconds for a warm cake ball!
  2. Store in fridge for up to 4-5 days.
