Cookie Croissants (Le Crookie)

Cookie croissants, also known as "Le Cookie," are a viral bakery-style treat that combines buttery, flaky croissants with gooey cookie dough. The croissants bake crisp and golden on the outside while the cookie dough stays soft and melty in the center. They're quick to prepare with store-bought croissants and cookie dough, making them an easy indulgence at home.

Equipment

  • baking pan
  • parchment paper

Ingredients

  • several croissants any size
  • cookie dough mix homemade or store-bought

Instructions

  • Make the cookie dough as you see fit.
  • Cut the croissants in half. Sandwich the cookie dough by spreading a layer of cookie dough in the middle. Then, dollop small portions on top of the croissant.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the croissants on it. Bake at 350°F in an oven (or air fryer) for 12-15 minutes or until they begin to brown. Cooking time depends on how crunchy you want the croissant and how cooked you want the cookie dough in the center. If you want a more crispy outside but still a soft inside, bake longer and/or turn the temperature to 375°F.
  • Take out and let cool for a few minutes. Inside cookie dough should be underdone.
  • Depending on how you made the cookie dough, these cannot be stored for a long period of time, though, you may be able to freeze them for some time.

Notes

  • These can also be stuffed with different candies and other sweets.
  • Crookies originated in 2022 Paris. Though, they started to go viral around March of 2024 through social media such as Instagram and Tiktok.
