Marketside Pumpkin White Chocolate Cookies
Score: 7.5 / 10

Review
First, these are definitely much larger and chunkier than your average cookie, having a thick, semi-moist, soft texture—the mouthfeel is really awesome; it definitely feels premium and a step ahead of other store-bought cookies. Most of the texture is uniform throughout, though a small difference is that the inside is softer than the ever-so-slightly crunchier outside, and further, the occasional white chocolate chunk adds a smidge extra to both the composition and flavor.
Speaking of flavor, it’s moderately sugary sweet with a mild, authentic pumpkin taste. The few embedded white chocolate pieces do give it a tiny burst of creamy, complementary flavor, but nothing too crazy or punchy here.
Overall, these do feel and taste almost homemade. They’re pleasant and remind me of a fall treat. And personally, due to their not being super sweet, I could see these being paired with some frosting if you want to bring it up a level.

While I cannot find an exact release date, the earliest review I can find of these dates back to October 2018, with mentions of it coming back every year since. For reference, these came back again in July 2025. Found July 2025.
Marketside Ultimate S’mores Flavored Crispy Bar
Score: 7 / 10

Review
It feels like a premium version of a Rice Krispie Treat. Thick, soft, and sports a notable marshmallow taste. However, like a Rice Krispie Treat, it does feel artificial, as if it was made to last a long time on the store shelf. It’s not necessarily bad, though, and doesn’t detract too much from the experience.
What is important to notice the most, however, is… uh… this is false advertising! Where’s the chocolate and graham cracker?!
This is rice and marshmallow through and through, nothing more. Those toppings do nothing! There’s nothing even embedded inside this bar aside from a few marshmallows.
So, yeah, it’s tasty and marshmallowy, but it’s not in any way s’mores!

Marketside S’mores Cake Pops
Score: 8 / 10

Review
Okay, so the center of these are just amazing. It’s essentially a thick, soft, moist, and slightly chewy buttery graham cracker ball (or cake?). Then, a shell of complementary semi-dark chocolate surrounds it. Together, it’s a great combination and something I’ve never had before.
However, where is the marshmallow? S’mores have marshmallows, right? Just because you nailed everything else doesn’t mean you skimp out on one-third of the ingredients! I know I just bashed these a lot, but you know what—honestly, even without the marshmallow, they still rock a great treat—such a great mouthfeel and buttery graham taste!

Marketside Peanut Butter & Jelly Bakery Cookies made with JIF Peanut Butter
Score: 7.25 / 10

Review
Pretty thick, lightly chewy, and a fair bit crumbly, as they fall apart when biting in. They feel a tad on the drier side (perhaps that’s why they crumble).
The overall cookie has a semi-sweet jarred peanut butter taste as well as the addition of a few peanut chip pieces. Backing that is an essence of fruit from the complementary fruit pieces. I appreciate how the peanut flavor resembles Jif, although the flavor and sweetness need to be stronger for it to really flourish. I’d also like more jelly flavor because those few fruit chunks simply didn’t do it for me.

Marketside S’mores Bakery Cookies made with Mini Hershey Chocolate Kisses
Score: 7.75 / 10

Review
A thick, solid, premium-feeling cookie. Granted, it still resembles a store-bought one in many aspects, but it’s tiers higher in quality. I really love how moist and chewy it is, as well as its thickness—yeah, I know I mentioned thickness before; it’s worth reiterating because these boys are chonkers! Overall, it has a great mouthfeel!
The flavor of most of the cookie is a mildly sweet, plain, regular chocolate cookie. Most of the flavor comes from the large embedded chocolate pieces that give it a punch of Hershey’s chocolate sweetness when you finally chew through them. Also, the marshmallows provide it with even more of a softer, chewier texture and a hint of marshmallow flavor.
If anything, I wish there were more of these pieces, as it feels like they skimped a bit. With more of them, it could truly become a top-tier s’mores-based cookie.

Marketside Chocolate Marshmallow Muffins
Score: 6.75 / 10

Review
S’mores? Uh, where? This is a sweet dark chocolate muffin, nothing more. The toppings do absolutely, positively nothing, too (they look nice, I guess). At least it’s not bitter or unpleasant, which is often the case with dark chocolates.
So, that aside, the texture is pretty premium. It’s thick, moist, and soft. It feels better than a lot of other muffins you may encounter, especially prepacked ones. If you want a good dark chocolate muffins you may want to try this, however the s’mores experience is simply absent.

Marketside S’mores Brownies
Score: 7.25 / 10

Review
These bars are soft, with a large semisweet graham cracker part that seems to be both dry and moist at the same time. Essentially, this bottom layer is cobbled together from ground-up graham crackers in a thick, soft, and “moist-like” crust. Above that is a hardly sweet, soft dark chocolate part that feels like a thick ganache. It’s not bitter and doesn’t add much sweetness nor any exciting chocolate flavor. Lastly, white gooey swirls sit at the top don’t appear to add anything—they’re especially thin and appear to be only for show.
In summary, these aren’t fully s’mores. The graham cracker takes up too much of the flavor, the chocolate is not sweet or bold enough, and marshmallow is completely absent. At the very least, the combination of textures is decent enough, making for a pleasant mouthfeel when you bite in.

Marketside Peanut Butter & Grape Jelly Bars
Score: 8.75 / 10

Review
So, before I dive in: The long and short of this treat is that if you’re a fan of PB&J like me, you will absolutely have a ball with these! It’s so thick, moist, and dense; it’s got such a good, soft mouthfeel, like you’re biting into a homemade premium dessert bar! Texture—amazing!
For the taste: First bite in, I’m hit with a fairly sweet and strong grape jelly, the same kind you find on store shelves from Welch’s and other brands. At the same time, a peanut, but it’s lighter, offering mostly a complementary background peanut that coincides well enough with the grape.
Lastly, the bar as a whole reminds me of a moderately sweet, doughy piece of bread. So, when combining them all, it does taste a lot like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in a wonderfully yummy bar form. My biggest issue, however, is that the peanut flavor could be a step higher—just a bit, and I think then it would be nearly perfect!

Marketside Sour Watermelon Kettle Popcorn.
Score: 7 / 10

Review
“I’m not going to like these. Sour Watermelon… popcorn? Ew… Wait…”
At first, I was confused about the flavor, but after eating a few more, it’s clear: a sweet watermelon with just a hint of sourness. Together, it’s a surprisingly nice combo, although the package does say sour, and I don’t think these fall into that realm necessarily. Regardless, it’s a pretty sweet, watermelon-like flavor, kind of reminding me of those sweet watermelon gummies you find on store shelves.
The texture is reasonably crunchy and coats your hand in the stuff. This texture combined with the flavor does not feel awkward at all! Lastly, like myself, I feel a lot of people will like this despite it being an “odd” flavor.

Marketside Orange Dreamsicle Cookies
Score: 8 / 10

Review
These cookies are quite large and thick. I also especially love how soft, lightly moist, and chewy they are—they feel absolutely premium in this regard. Although they do also have an artificial, but not off-putting, texture, as if they weren’t made to go old quickly. Interestingly, the texture is mostly uniform throughout—I would have thought the embedded chips would add a crunch of sorts, but they’re nearly equally as soft as the cookie itself!
The taste is lighter than I expected. It sports a light vanilla and creamy orange, very reminiscent of that of an orange popsicle, just as advertised on the package, although perhaps not as sweet. Overall, it’s very refreshing, actually, and doesn’t come across as too sweet or too punchy. In my opinion, these would absolutely pair well with a vanilla or cream cheese frosting.

Marketside Strawberry Shortcake Brownies
Score: 8 / 10

Review
The texture of these is phenomenal and complex! It’s soft, fairly dense, and so easy to bite through. The graham cracker crust and shortcake are crumbly, especially the strawberry top, but then you have a complementary and paradoxically contrary, thick caramel goo center that holds both together—it’s great! This caramel is moderately sweet, not as sweet as a candy-based caramel; it’s much more tame and doesn’t taste artificial or feel fake. The strawberry top is also lightly sweet and provides an authentic strawberry taste.
Overall, these so-called brownies are moderately sweet, have a shortcake and light caramel flavor, and the texture is so, so darn interestingly wonderful!

Marketside Strawberry Cake
Score: 6.5 / 10

Review
Overall, it’s decently creamy, soft, fluffy, and a little moist, like a good boxed cake mix. There’s a distinct, creamy strawberry taste that comes across as lightly sweet throughout.
However, what makes this cake is the drizzle. This thin layer of drizzle that is layered on top, on the side, and in the center is absolutely wonderful! It provides it with a ton of moisture, making it denser, as well as providing a sweet hit of well-needed sugar. However, it’s only the surface level, leaving the rest of the cake pretty tame and a bit boring. Essentially, this is a decent cake that desperately needs more of that sugary-sweet drizzle, but aside from that, it has a decent, pleasant, and well-balanced creamy strawberry flavor throughout.
Release Date
I’m not sure of a release date for this. Found at Walmart April 2025.
Marketside Square Message Chocolate Chunk Cookie Cake
Score: 9 / 10

Review
For whatever reason, I absolutely love these darn cookies. And to top it off (literally), you can get them decorated with that cheap, sweet-tasting frosting. Together, it’s just… magical.
Despite not being a freshly baked cookie, they’re soft, moist, and dense. They remind me of those fancy dessert cookies you find in restaurants or skillet cookies, albeit more artificial in terms of taste and texture, as if they were made to sit out for a long time.
They seem like cousins of Chewy Chips Ahoy! in terms of composition and flavor, coming across as sweet and milk chocolatey. The abundant bits of chocolate chips are soft and add an appreciable soft-solid chew contrast to the already soft and dense texture. Lastly, the frosting: it’s super artificial and fake feeling, sweet, and pairs so well with the cookie for some reason; perhaps artificial plus artificial equals yum?!
To sum it up, personally, I prefer these at room temperature. When it’s warmed up, it falls apart too easily and becomes squishy. On the other hand, it gets a lot more chocolatey as the embedded chocolate chips melt and seem to spread throughout the cookie itself.

Marketside Bourbon Pecan Pie
Score: 7.5 / 10

Review
This is more or less the same as their pecan pie but with a bitter bourbon aftertaste. At first, I thought it was some weird, artificial fakeness happening, but it’s definitely a bourbon flavoring. Honestly, despite loving bourbon, I’m not sure if I like it here. I’d much rather just buy their regular pecan pie, which doesn’t have me questioning what that odd aftertaste is.
Nonetheless, the pie is reasonably sweet with a pecan taste. What’s especially nice is the thick caramel-like, gooey inside texture that sits below the top layer of pecans, which is satisfying to chew through both warm and especially chilled when it becomes a soft-hard texture. However, the crust feels so cheap! It’s simply too thin and dry.
Release Date
While I’m not sure of the exact release date, reviews date back to around 2019. Found February 2025.
Marketside Baklava
Score: 8.5 / 10

Review
For such a cheap price, this sweet-tasting baklava was absolutely a steal for the quality. Each one had distinct flavors and different notes that set them apart, something cheap baklava often doesn’t do. In addition, the texture and composition are nearly perfect and resemble much more expensive baklava.
With regard to freshness, it was middle of the road. It wasn’t prepared minutes ago by a bakery, but it isn’t anywhere near being bad or being “Walmart quality,” either.
Release Date
May have been released around October 2020. Found November 2023.

Marketside Variety Cake: Honey Bun, Louisiana Crunch, Sock It To Me, and Triple Chocolate Cake
Scores
Honey Bun: 6 / 10
Louisiana Crunch: 6.5 / 10
Sock It To Me: 8 / 10
Triple Chocolate: 6 / 10

Review
Honey Bun
It’s a bit different than a honey bun, as it’s obviously a cake. It’s soft and just slightly moist, making it a decent texture. The taste is like a regular honey bun, although not as sweet, as the glaze-to-cake ratio is quite off; there’s a lot of cake to a thin layer of glaze!
Louisiana Crunch
It almost tastes like a regular yellow cake but with some of this almost lemony tart taste. The texture is soft and slightly moist.
Sock It To Me
This is more or less a regular-tasting coffee cake. It’s fairly sweet and has that traditional coffee cake, brown sugar, and cinnamon flavor throughout. The texture is slightly moist, semi-thick, and soft.
Triple Chocolate
The cake itself is pretty sweet, especially with the drizzle. It’s almost like they used a dark chocolate cake mix but added a lot of sugar to make it less bitter. The texture is soft, moist, and semi-thick.
