Walmart Freshness Guaranteed S’mores Frosted Sugar Cookies
Score: 7.5 / 10

Reminds me of a knockoff Loft House cookie. However, it’s not as sweet or flavorful, and the texture feels just a smidge more grainy and less soft. Still, it’s pretty sweet, and the cookie’s texture is mostly your typical artificial store-bought sugar cookie: breaks apart easy, somewhat dry, and decently dense.
The taste of the cookie itself is a semi-sweet artificial graham flavor, with the cream on top providing a lot of the sweetness. This frosting doesn’t really taste like marshmallow, however, more so like an artificially sweet vanilla.
In total, you have a fairly sweet, artificially flavored, soft, vanilla graham cracker cookie. The big thing that’s missing is obviously any chocolate flavor as well as marshmallow.
Released early July alongside other soda-flavored, s’mores-based, and fruit-tasting baked goodies (see sources here and here). Found July 2025.
Walmart Freshness Guaranteed Dr. Pepper Flavored Cupcakes
Score: 7.5 / 10

After biting in, I could immediately taste a soda-like taste that resembles a semi-sweet Dr. Pepper. Surprisingly, it works well, and I specifically like that it doesn’t have an annoying carbonated or weird bitter taste.
It’s hard to explain, but basically, the cupcake itself does have that “soda” flavor, not coming across too strong or bitter, having a light and pleasant Dr. Pepper taste—likely because the cupcake dough itself dilutes it.
Much of the sweetness comes from the super sugary sweet, soft, overpowering frosting, which goes very well with the Dr. Pepper flavor. It too seems to have a little bit of its own soda flavor, but for the most part, it seems to be there just to add a bunch of extra sugar.
Despite sounding like a weird flavor, these cupcakes just work. Much of the flavor and sweetness comes from the frosting, so if you’re into sweet and sugary frostings and occasionally drink soda, I think you’ll enjoy these!
The biggest downside is that these cupcakes feel like your regular cheap store-brand line. Not terrible quality, but absolutely not great either. It’s kind of thin and soft, the frosting feels artificial, and well, it all just feels cheap-ish.

Walmart Freshness Guaranteed S’mores Mini Bundt Cakes
Score: 8 / 10

An interesting combination of textures, to say the least. The cake itself feels semi-thick and moist, especially the bottom for some reason, like it was sitting on a sugary syrup. It’s mildly sweet with a graham taste, with much of the sweetness coming from everything else.
Then you have these semi-stiff streaks of sweet dark chocolate and white creme along the sides that break apart as you bite in. Aside from texture, they provide a background of mostly chocolate and additional sweetness, working well with the graham cracker-tasting cake itself. Lastly, a dollop of sweet, sugary, artificial marshmallow-like tasting, stretchy frosting sits directly in the center.
These Bundt cakes are good and have a nice vibe of s’mores—just a vibe though; if they wanted to go full s’more, additional chocolate and more authentic marshmallow frosting would be appreciated.

Walmart Freshness Guaranteed Unicorn Cotton Candy Cake
Score: 8.25 / 10

Wow, this has a good chunk of frosting—I love it! Really, the layer of frosting on the top and sides is thicker than what’s let on. It comes across as reasonably thick and soft, although it’s clearly artificial but still pleasant to bite through. The flavor is mostly sugary sweet with a hint of cotton candy and a non-distracting dye-like taste. In terms of sweetness, interestingly, it’s not as sweet as some store-bought frostings, but it’s still on the sweeter side overall. Further, the large amount of sprinkles adds further soft-crunchy complexity to the texture.
Notably, the frosting brings most of the flavor, as it takes up the bulk of the cake, and the cake itself is, well, on the plainer side.
Speaking of the cake, it’s a regular-tasting, boxed cake mix-feeling yellow cake. It’s good enough: moist, semi-dense, and just right. Sandwiched between the two layers of yellow cake is a decent amount of blue frosting running through the center, which adds even more to the already frosting-generous treat.
Overall, it’s a good cake, especially for the price. I absolutely enjoy how much frosting there is; however, my only complaint is that the taste runs on the regular sugar-tasting side instead of actual cotton candy.
While I can’t find an exact release date, reviews date back to around May 2024. Found June 2025.

Walmart Freshness Guaranteed Watermelon Frosted Sugar Cookies
Score: 6.75 / 10

Wow, this is so unexpectedly refreshing! Looking at these, I expected a Lofthouse welcome—you know, those sugar cookies in similar packaging that are blazingly sweet and artificial. But these aren’t even close! The sweetness falls between semi-sweet and moderate and is more or less unoffending yet satisfying enough at the same time. It kind of is, well, like a watermelon in terms of sweetness.
The flavor is also reasonably accurate, and combined with the sugar level, it’s likely the best you can get to watermelon-flavored cookies. Interestingly, the cookie itself and the frosting have the same flavor and sweetness.
In terms of texture, it’s all easy to bite through and dense, and while the cookie and frosting textures do feel artificial-ish, it’s really not distracting. If anything, I did find the cookie part a bit odd—for example, it feels moist, but at the same time, dry. What’s going on here? Bah, I’m really nit-picking, but more or less, it does feel like an artificial sugar cookie—not in a bad way either. Lastly, the frosting is on the stiffer side, dense, and soft—it could be better, but again, like the cookie portion, it definitely feels and behaves like an artificial frosting.
Released around mid-May 2025. Found at Walmart June 2025.
Walmart Freshness Guaranteed Apple Cinnamon Iced Mini Donuts
Score: 6.5 / 10

The slightest taste of apple and a hint of cinnamon accompany these. Other than that, these are regular-tasting donuts with a soft, semi-moist texture. None of them taste different from the other. Overall, while I found them to be less sweet than their other mini donut counterparts and typical donuts, they’re still decent enough.
Not sure when this was released. Found December 2024.
Walmart Freshness Guaranteed Strawberry Iced Mini Donuts
Score: 7 / 10

Regular, soft donuts with a thin layer of soft strawberry frosting. It’s very normal tasting, nothing out of the ordinary or different than your traditional-tasting donuts. All the flavor comes from the sweet, artificial-tasting strawberry frosting. If you’re into these types of cheap-tasting, sweet donuts, grab them!
Likely released around mid-2024, according to reviews. Found August 2024.
Walmart Freshness Guaranteed Pumpkin Cake Roll
Score: 8 / 10

This smells strongly like sweet pumpkin. Biting in, the roll itself is a little more dry to my liking, and it has a pumpkiny taste. The overly soft inner frosting is very sweet and artificial and resembles a sugary cream cheese. All together, it feels light and almost airy; tasty enough to recommend, however, those sensitive to sweetness might want to steer clear.
Released around 2013. Comes around every late summer/fall season. Found August 2024.
Walmart Freshness Guaranteed Hershey Chocolate Cake Bites
Score: 7 / 10

Compared to a Hershey chocolate bar, these are slightly more dark and less sweet. Overall, it’s more or less just a semi-dark cake. In my opinion, however, it needs some more oomph, perhaps more sugar, to really bring out the chocolate flavor. These pair super well with ice cream or whipped cream!
Not sure of an exact release date. Found at Walmart July 2024.
Walmart Freshness Guaranteed Caramel Iced Mini Donuts
Score: 8.25 / 10

Tastes just like a frosted donut you’d find at your typical donut shop. Sweet frosting coupled with a soft-textured donut—it’s so good! The layer of frosting, as advertised, has a tasty salted caramel taste and really makes the donut, well, a salted caramel donut!
Released around March 2024. Found June 2024.

Walmart Freshness Guaranteed Mini Frosted Donuts
Score: 6 / 10

The taste is decent, nothing crazy or overwhelming. The frosting is fairly thin. The doughnut itself is OK; it could have been a tad sweeter and, well, better.
Exclusive to Walmart, not sure when they came out. Found February 2024.
Walmart Freshness Guaranteed White Candy Macadamia Nut Cookies
Score: 5.5 / 10

Walmart bakery foods are usually pretty decent; what happened here? Despite looking and their name sounding amazing, these were bland! The texture was on the drier side but not crumbly, and the bits of nuts and “candy” were flavorless but added a small addition to the composition, at least. Overall, it was semi-sweet with no real discernible flavor. Why have “candy” in your name if it isn’t at all sweet?
Not sure when the Walmart Bakery started producing these. Found October 2023.

Walmart Freshness Guaranteed Triple Chocolate Tres Leches Cake
Score: 6 / 10

This is not tres leches; this is offensive! It really does seem like they used only whole milk to drown the cake, making it a completely soggy, soupy mess. The top layer is fairly sweet milk chocolate mousse with little slightly crunchy bits of chocolate. The bottom half is dark chocolate cake completely overly bathed in plain-tasting milk. It’s way too soggy and bland, and it’s nothing like a real tres leches that has different milks and flavors.
I’m not sure when this was released, although the latest reviews date back to some time in 2022. Found October 2023.
