Benton’s Creme Filled Wafer Rolls: Summer Berry and Lemon Meringue

Score: 7.25 / 10 (for both)

Review

Lemon Meringue: What makes this wafer is the yummy inside. It’s very creamy and has a light, moderately sweet lemon flavor with no sign of punchiness or bitterness. It’s quite refreshing! I do wish it had more of this lemon ganache-like inside, as it does feel a little hollow at times. The wafer itself is airy and crunchy. It doesn’t feel as premium as some other wafers nor too cheap, and it complements the filling well enough to be satisfactory.

Summer Berry: This has identical composition and textures to the lemon meringue, except, of course, the flavor differs. This has an unidentified combination of berry flavors that comes across as moderately sweet with a pinch of berry punchiness. I also don’t feel it leans too much into artificial flavor territory, which is nice. And, like the lemon meringue, it does taste refreshing and feels like a great representation of summer flavor.

Release Date

Both released around June 2024, then rereleased June 2025. Found July 2025.

Benton’s Key Lime Creme Sandwich Cookies

Score: 7.25 / 10

Review

A fairly sweet, creamy, and lightly punchy key lime creme accompanies a graham cracker-tasting cookie. It doesn’t come across as too artificial, though; they are on the sweeter side, which may be off-putting for some while others may thoroughly enjoy it.

The texture is mostly your typical sandwich cookie, although the cookie itself does feel slightly thinner than others, which makes it provide a lesser crunch compared to its competitors. To me, it’s simply a “good enough” cookie.

They’re overall not bad. These are unique and sweet, and while the cookie part feels on the cheaper side, it does have a good flavor. Further, the inside creme is unique enough to dial it up and make it a worthwhile buy.

Release Date

Released around May 2023. Found July 2025.

Benton’s Mini Waffle Cones with Sea Salt Caramel & Milk Chocolate

Score: 7 / 10

Review

First off, the filling is very, very toned down. It’s a very light caramel with an even lighter chocolate taste. Honestly, compared to normal caramel and other chocolates, this is nowhere near close, simply because of how much sweetness it lacks. It comes across as completely unoffending and, moreover, disappointing for those who love sweets. In addition, the crunchy shell doesn’t seem to help in the sweetness area, as it brings down the flavors more.

However, the shell does provide a complementary, contrasting waffle cone crunch to the soft-solid, almost chewy filling. It’s nice, and the texture as a whole is the standout of this candy treat.

Release Date

While I can’t find an exact release date, reviews date back to around early June 2025. Found at Aldi in June 2025.

Benton’s Soft Baked Cookies: Raspberry & White Chocolate Chip, S’mores, Key Lime & White Chocolate Chip

Scores
Raspberry & White Chocolate Chip: 7.5 / 10
S’mores: 7.5 / 10
Key Lime & White Chocolate Chip: 7 / 10

Review

Overall, these cookies are pretty good. They especially feel premium compared to other chewy cookies, almost feeling homemade but not quite. Like, you can almost be convinced if someone told you these were organic, if that makes sense. On the flip side, they do fall apart easily when biting into them.

Raspberry & White Chocolate Chip: These are actually quite refreshing! There’s a lightly sweet, non-punchy raspberry taste with a hint of white chocolate that helps balance it. The raspberry feels authentic because, well, it seems like actual raspberries are in the cookies. Overall, really, while I’m not a huge fan of fruit-based cookies, these are absolutely a home run, even if you’re like me!

S’mores: Immediately, I noticed these have a slight pull to them compared to the others, as if they’re partly made of marshmallow—I love it. They’re decently sweet, but frankly, they’re not exactly S’mores flavored. Sure, there’s some chocolate flavor and traditional cookie, but really, it’s kind of a traditional-tasting chocolate chip cookie mixed with a few white chocolate chips. There is some creaminess; perhaps it’s the marshmallow flavor? I’m not sure. Either way, it’s also missing any graham cracker! Still, in the end, these are superb, especially because of the texture.

Key Lime & White Chocolate Chip: Wow, that lime taste hits! Unfortunately, the lime feels like a flavoring instead of fully authentic—still, it’s uniquely tasty. The white chocolate chips add a little bit of flavor and creaminess, but the lime does overpower them. Overall, it’s not bad; it’s just artificial.

Release Date

I can’t find an official release date or reviews at the time of this writing; however, this is my first time seeing them. Found at Aldi May 2025.

Benton’s Belgian Chocolate Easter Cookies

Score: 7 / 10

Review

There are two different types of cookies here, but they’re more or less the same. One is shaped like an Easter egg and has a chocolate coating all around it with a bucket load of noticeably crunchy round sprinkles, and the other is a bunny with only one side of chocolate coating with no sprinkles. Obviously, I definitely prefer the crunchy, extra chocolatey Easter egg cookie, but they’re very close.

Overall, they’re semi-thin and have a light, soft crunch with a plain cookie-biscuit flavor. Both of them have a thin, moderately sweet milk chocolate coating that paints most of the flavor. Since the coating is thin, the overall sweetness is pretty toned down, but it is still pretty good and would be perfect for the average person. They don’t feel cheap, nor do they feel premium; they are just your average chocolate cookies you might find in a tin or gift box.

Release Date

While I’m not sure of an exact release date, reviews date back to around March 2024 for the Easter season. I found these in early April 2025.

Benton’s Belgian Butter Waffle Crisps

Score: 6.5 / 10

Review

It’s a mix between a cookie, a cracker, and a waffle. They’re semi-thick, semi-crunchy, and fall apart easily. They don’t seem to have a discernible taste other than being semi-sweet and having the slightest butter taste; most of the flavor comes from the dark chocolate-dipped side.

Release Date

I’m not sure when these were released. Found at Aldi January 2025.

Benton’s Wafer Assortment

Score: 7.5 / 10

Review

These remind me of those cheap wafers you find at most stores, except these are more premium, thick, and less airy. The ones with chocolate add a nice, subtle dark chocolate flavor to the already semi-sweet wafers. More or less, the flavor and texture of most of these are extremely similar, yet all enjoyable in their own way.

Release Date

I am not sure when this was first released, although it started to appear around November 2024. Found at Aldi December 2024.

Benton’s Dark Chocolate Gingerbread Hearts

Score: 7.5 / 10

Review

The flavor is so complex and such a good combination! You can definitely taste the lightly sweet apricot and the dark chocolate, though I’m not sure if I can’t make out the ginger. Either way, it’s overall pleasantly sweet with light, bold apricot and dark chocolate flavor. The texture is soft, while the shell is semi-hard and provides a complementary crunch. Everything about this feels premium and a cut above the rest!

Release Date

May have been first released November 2023. Found November 2024 at Aldi.

Benton’s Gingerbread House Cookie Kit

Score: 7.5 / 10

Review

The first thing I noticed was that this only comes with white icing, though it’s about enough for most of your decorating. Notably, the taste of the cookie is definitely Christmas spice with a kick, not gingerbread. They’re moderately sweet, and with the icing, it’s a nice, sweet touch.

The kit includes a variety of candies, including sugary gummy Christmas trees and plain gummy balls, as well as cheap-tasting hard candy and mints. Overall, the kit feels on the lackluster side given what it came with. At least give us more icing colors!

Not sure when this was released. Found at Aldi in November 2024.

Benton’s Chocolate Haunted House Cookie Kit

Score: 9 / 10

Review

This comes with so much! Super sweet gummies, a variety of cheap-tasting hard candies including bat and bone shapes, and two tubes of Halloween orange and black colored frosting.

The cookie house itself has a tasty, moderately sweet chocolate cocoa flavor. Granted, it’s still dry, crunchy, and a bit tough. The frosting and the gummies are very sweet and taste good, almost premium! Together, it’s all a great combination and steps above other house decorating kits.

Release Date

Rereleased October 2, 2024. Found at Aldi in October 2024.

Benton’s Creme Filled Pumpkin Spice Wafer Rolls

Score: 8 / 10

Review

An airy cookie stick with a creamy, moist filling. This filling really makes it; it’s moderately sweet with a bold pumpkin spice taste. The combination of the soft, crumbly cookie and inner filling is really nice, and of course, the flavor is super good and reminds me of fall.

Release Date

Likely released sometime around 2023 or 2024 for the fall season. Found at Aldi September 2024.

Benton’s Spekulatius Spiced Cookies

Score: 5.5 / 10

Review

A typical crunchy, hardish cookie with a hint of spice and cinnamon. It’s also lightly sweet. Overall, I expected more flavor, as these are on the blander side. Still, not terrible, just not great.

Release Date

Likely released sometime around 2023 or 2024 for the fall season. Found at Aldi September 2024.
