Choceur

Choceur Neapolitan Bark

Score: 6 / 10

Review

The taste reminds me of a creamy, dipped strawberry, but there are some differences. The milk chocolate here, despite not being that strong in the first place, is stronger than both the vanilla and strawberry. Then, in terms of sweetness, it’s almost the same as a Hershey’s bar, perhaps a smidge lighter.

Additionally, despite being a bark, it’s more or less a regular, semi-thin candy bar. So basically, a thin chocolate bar with some mild addition of strawberry. Moreover, this thinness, along with its mild sweetness and lack of flavorful flavors, does make it feel on the cheaper side.

Personally, I’d much rather eat a sweeter, thicker, regular chocolate bar. For some reason, these just felt boring.

Release Date

Released June 2025. Found July 2025.

Choceur Birthday Cake Bark

Score: 7 / 10

Review

I love birthday cake-flavored treats, but this just isn’t it. Weirdly, it smells like birthday cake, yet upon biting in, it’s a moderately sweet and creamy white chocolate. Nothing special, nothing different.

Oh, what happened, Choceur? Are you trying to falsely advertise your white chocolate as birthday cake simply because it has sprinkles?!

The texture is that of your typical candy bar, though on the thicker side with many of its pieces. Lastly, and perhaps most unfortunately, the embedded confetti doesn’t add anything aside from color; it’s literally the same texture as the bar itself!

Release Date

Originally released around March 2024 as an Easter version, they then rereleased this version in June 2025. Found July 2025.

Choceur Cafe Latte Chocolates

Score: 6.5 / 10

Review

Chocoeur does it again—really, these are really close to their other, cheaper, albeit less cute treats, as well as competing brand Moser Roth. However, I couldn’t help but notice that these are missing that pleasurable thick candy shell, instead replaced by a thin “mug”-shaped form holding together its solid cream filling. Essentially, the mouthfeel here isn’t that fulfilling.

The flavors represented—mocha, chocolate, and vanilla—are all quite mellow. Nothing even close to the sweetness or punchiness of other name-brand truffles you find in stores. They’re simply inoffensive and, at the same time, kind of unimpressive. Sure, the designs are cute, but the flavor isn’t able to back it up.

I’d rather go for their other chocolates (or Moser Roth) that have a thicker shell and more of that soft-solid ganache inside. At best, these make for a nice gift or topper for a dessert.

Release Date

I’m unsure of an exact release date. From the time of early July, I have not seen these before in store or mentioned online. Found July 2025.

Choceur Burnt Caramel Sea Salt and Dark Chocolate Mixed Berry Belgian Filled Bars

Scores:
Burnt Caramel Sea Salt: 7.25 / 10
Dark Chocolate Mixed Berry: 6.75 / 10

Review

Burnt Caramel Sea Salt: This is surprisingly accurate to what’s advertised. It genuinely tastes like you put some sweet caramel in a pan and slid it off. There’s a “burnt” taste to it, but it’s not at all bad; it simply changes the flavor to add a note of something more… “Dark?” I can’t think of the word. But anyway, it all comes across as a pretty sweet, soft chocolate bar with a unique caramel taste I haven’t had before!

Dark Chocolate Mixed Berry: This is quite pleasant, even sophisticated. The dark chocolate is pretty sweet and has a slight bitter note. This is all complemented by the thin berry inner layer, which, to me, comes across as a darker berry–is it a blueberry mix of sorts? Perhaps something like that. Either way, it complements the soft chocolate shell well by bringing out each other’s flavor profiles.

Release Date

While I’m unsure of an exact release date, reviews date back to around mid-2023. Found at Aldi, April 2025.

Choceur Chocolate Eggs with Spoons: Milk Creme and Cookies & Creme

Scores:
Cookies & Creme: 7.5 / 10
Milk Creme: 7.25 / 10

Review

Cookies & Creme: I didn’t taste too much cookies and cream here, as the sweetness overwhelms much of it. The center is very sweet, with an artificial frosting and sugary cream taste, with the lightest hint of chocolate from the micro cookie pieces. It resembles Oreo Creme Eggs if you ever had those, except these are even more sweet! There’s a decent amount of this frosting on the inside, but it’s around half hollow. The filling is incredibly soft, like a soft ganache, making it easily spoonable with the included spoon. Additionally–and this is something I’ve never experienced—the milk chocolate shell is very, very soft and sweet, and it literally–and I mean literally—melts in your mouth!

Milk Creme: Just like Cookies & Creme, but the flavor is more straightforward and even sweeter! It’s straight-up sugary sweet with no real discernible flavor, as if you’re eating sugar in a cream-based form. It’s so sweet, and honestly, while I personally don’t mind it, it needs some flavor to tag along with all that sugar!

Both of these have soft enough fillings you can eat with the included spoon.

Release Date

While I’m not sure of an exact release date, reviews date back to early March 2021. It likely released at similar times in later years, as I found this early April 2025 at Aldi.

Choceur Easter Bark: Carrot Cake and Blueberry Cobbler

Scores:
Carrot Cake: 8 / 10
Blueberry Cobbler: 7.5 / 10

Review

Carrot Cake: A strong scent of sweet vanilla cream cheese carrot cake. Taste-wise, it’s just that and so much more. It’s so complex! It consists mostly of a sweet, creamy vanilla cream cheese flavor with a light carrot cake background. Along with embedded raisins and soft walnuts, this adds a light complexity to the taste and texture. There is also noticeable brown powder embedded throughout that provides a touch of nutmeg and other spices. Weirdly, the texture isn’t bark! It’s so soft and smooth, like a candy bar that sat out for a few minutes in a warm room–you can bite right through it without any serious crunch.

Blueberry Cobbler: The taste is a very light candy blueberry that mostly consists of a good amount of sugary-tasting sweetness. Really, the blueberry could be stronger and a little more authentic; still, it’s still appreciable because of how light it is. The embedded cookie pieces and blueberries provide small crunchy bits to the smooth, soft bark, although not really anything in terms of flavor, as the bark’s sweetness overpowers it.

Release Date

Likely released in late March 2025 for the Easter season. Found early April 2025 at Aldi.

Choceur Red Velvet Cookies & Cream Bark and Strawberries & Cream Bark

Score: 7.5 / 10 (for both)

Review

Both of the barks aren’t super crunchy like traditional bark, in fact, they’re soft, a bit softer than a regular chocolate bar. The shape is also similar to a chocolate bar.

Red Velvet: A pleasantly sweet and creamy red velvet flavor. There are also light crunches from embedded candy pieces. There isn’t much else to say!

Strawberry: A bit sweeter than the Red Velvet, it’s especially creamy, like you’re biting into a strawberry with extra sugar and a layer of white chocolate. These really resemble Lindt strawberry-flavored truffles.

Released January 2025 for the Valentine’s season. Found at Aldi, February 2025.

Choceur Milk Chocolate S’mores Clusters

Score: 8.5 / 10

Review

A thick, semi-chewy caramel connects the mini graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate. Surprisingly, it’s not as sweet as I would have thought; however, it’s still sweet enough. To me, the caramel and crunchy graham cracker steal the show in terms of flavor; still, it has a nice background of chocolate and marshmallow.

The texture of these is also pretty good: a mix of thick caramel, crunchy graham cracker, and chewy marshmallow.

Release Date

While I’m not sure when this was released, some reviews date back to 2023. Found at Aldi, January 2025.

Choceur Dark Chocolate Marzipan Log

Score: 8 / 10

Review

A thick, soft, moist marzipan inside. It’s sweet, and the dark chocolate shell provides a light, appreciated crisp crunch and contrasting flavor to the filling. In summary, it’s your typical almondy marzipan flavor with a bunch of added sugar in a thick log form; that’s about it!

Release Date

Not sure when this was released. Found at Aldi, December 2024.

Choceur Dark Chocolate Peppermint Marshmallow

Score: 7 / 10

Review

The thin chocolate shell and flavor remind me of peppermint patties if they added a bunch of air and made the center puffy. The inside is a pleasant marshmallow with a noticeable but not overly bold peppermint taste. Overall, it’s tasty, and the peppermint pairs well with the dark chocolate shell.

Release Date

Likely released around November 2023 for the winter season. Exclusive to Aldi. Found at Aldi, December 2024.

Choceur Raisins & Hazelnuts

Score: 7 / 10

90% a regular milk chocolate bar with crunchy hazelnuts. The rest is small, soft raisins embedded throughout, mostly adding only to the texture. I would have thought the raisins would be weird; however, in reality, they don’t really add too much at all. Overall, the bar isn’t too sweet and mostly tastes like milk chocolate with hazelnuts.

Release Date

Likely released sometime around 2023 or 2024 for the fall season. Found at Aldi, September 2024.

Choceur Strawberry Creme Milk Chocolate

Score: 7.5 / 10

Review

A surprisingly sweet strawberry taste that’s additionally super creamy. There’s a mini crunch from the embedded strawberry pieces in the thick, creamy filling. Interestingly, these come packaged as individually wrapped long chocolate pieces.

Release Date

No official release date. Reviews date back to around 2020. Only at Aldi. Found at Aldi, July 2024.

Choceur White Chocolate with Spiced Cookie Pieces Bar

Score: 6.5 / 10

Front package of Choceur White Chocolate with Spiced Cookie Pieces bar.

Review

One of the largest, thickest candy bars I’ve had! The texture is that of a regular chocolate bar, and the taste is… different? I’m not sure. It’s a moderately sweet white chocolate (not as sweet as Hershey’s, for example), and it has a hint of something else. Is it the crunchy embedded cookie pieces giving it that flavor? Probably, though, I’m just not sure what flavor that is exactly.

Release Date

Released November 2023 for the holiday season alongside a Peppermint Creme flavor. Exclusive to Aldi. Found at Aldi, December 2023.

Back package, including nutrition label and ingredients of Choceur White Chocolate with Spiced Cookie Pieces bar.

Choceur Salted Caramel Belgian Chocolate Waves

Score: 6 / 10

Front package of Aldi Choceur Belgian Chocolate Waves, Salted Caramel Flavor.

Review

I really thought these would be chips covered in chocolate. Instead, they’re small chocolate shells in the shape of Pringles with bits of crunchy pieces throughout. They’re lightly sweet and have a basic milk chocolate taste.

Release Date

Not sure when these were released, although this brand is produced by Storck for Aldi stores. Found at Aldi, November 2023.

Choceur European Chocolate Collection

Score: 7.25 / 10

Front box of Aldi Choceur European Chocolate Collection.

Review

Weirdly, most of these chocolates have very similar tastes and almost identical textures. That’s not to say they were bad, though; it was all pretty tasty, although they really need the flavors to differentiate themselves from other competing products. And while these were still sweet, they weren’t unbearably sweet like other candy assortments like Russell Stover. The texture of each candy was a soft shell with a soft, creamy inside.

Release Date

Aldi’s brand, Choceur, has been selling identical candy collections like this for several years, designing the box differently based on the occasion. Found at Aldi, November 2023.

Back box of Aldi Choceur European Chocolate Collection.

Choceur Cookies ‘N’ Creme

Score: 7.25 / 10

Bar of Aldi Choceur Cookies 'N' Creme.

Review

The cookies and cream middle is both soft and has bits of crunch from the cookies. Overall, it’s fairly sweet but not overly so, and the chocolate shell is regular milk chocolate. The quality is about average, similar to Milka Oreo chocolate bars, but it tastes slightly less quality and is cheaper. Note that each piece is long and individually wrapped.

Release Date

I’m not sure when this was released, although I found it in Aldi in August 2023. This brand is produced by Storck for Aldi stores.

Choceur Peanuts & Cornflakes Bar

Score: 6 / 10

Bar of Choceur Peanuts and Cornflakes.

Review

Semi-sweet, small peanut flavor with a light crunch. These bars are also very thick and have quite a bit of peanut and cornflakes embedded within them. The chocolate bar is a little less sweet than typical bars like Hershey’s. The quality tastes very average, and the texture of the chocolate is typical; it is neither too soft nor too hard.

Release Date

Likely released sometime in the summer of 2023. Exclusive to Aldi, as this brand is produced by Storck for Aldi stores. Found at Aldi, August 2023.
