Reviewing Lindt Stracciatella, Reese’s Poppins, Little Debbie Pumpkin Snacks, & More

This snack review has Lindt White Chocolate Stracciatella Truffles, Starburst Airs Gummies, Little Debbie Pumpkin Spice Donuts and Pumpkin Delights Cookies, and Pillsbury Reese’s Cookie Dough Poppins.

With this snack haul, all I can say is… what is going on?! Reese’s, you release a cookie dough that isn’t cookie dough and doesn’t taste like Reese’s! And Lindt, you have a cookies and cream based truffle that’s mostly just cream! Little Debbie, don’t get me started on your “pumpkin spice” donuts that don’t even taste like pumpkin spice! Ahh, the advertising in some of these snacks and candies is all so misleading!

Lindt White Chocolate Stracciatella Truffles

Score: 7 / 10

Front package of Lindt White Chocolate Stracciatella truffles.

On the sweeter side, these are mostly creamy tasting with a hint of cookie. There’s little bits of chocolate cookie pieces in the shell that don’t add much other than a very tiny crunch every now and then. The inner filling is just cream, soft, and can melt in your mouth, it’s all very smooth. I don’t think I’d recommend this if you’re into cookies and cream snacks as these really need a lot more cookie pieces.

Not sure when this was released exactly although reviews date back to several years ago. Found at Walgreens.

Starburst Airs Gummies

Score: 5.5 / 10

Front package of Starburst Airs Gummies.

“Airs” sounds like such a marketing term but it describes these gummies pretty darn well. It’s like these were traditional gummies and someone literally pumped them up with, well, air. The texture is like a gummy pillow, almost marshmallow like but more tough. The flavor is diluted especially when compared to the punchy original Starbursts. These are much more mellow, less sweet, and overall, a more pleasant experience where each gummy has a distinct artificial fruity flavor.

Released fall 2021 alongside a Sour Tropical version. Found at Walgreens.

Little Debbie Pumpkin Spice Donuts

Score: 6 / 10

Front package of Little Debbie Pumpkin Spice Donuts.

Mostly tastes like a regular plain powdered donut with a light, off-tasting, sort of pumpkin spice—I’m not sure if it’s pumpkin spice exactly but it isn’t a bad tasting flavor necessarily. The texture is typical of bagged powdered donuts: soft, a bit dry, easy to bite through, thick, and a generous helping of powder on the outside.

Released for a limited time August 2023. Found at Stop & Shop.

Pillsbury Reese’s Cookie Dough Poppins

Score: 5.5 / 10

Front package of Pillsbury Reese's Cookie Dough Poppins.

Reese’s, what happened? As a Reese’s fan, I am hugely disappointed! For the texture, this is a bit gritty, very soft, and almost melts in your mouth. This isn’t exactly like cookie dough as I feel cookie dough is a bit more thick and pliable. The flavor tastes a lot like a Reese’s but something is off about it as the chocolate isn’t really there and it’s mostly the fairly sweet peanut butter that’s present, but even that seems just slightly different. Also, it’s not as sweet as a Reese’s! Basically just a disappointment.

Released around June 2023. This flavor joins Birthday Cake and Chocolate Chip that released July 2020. Found at Stop & Shop.

Little Debbie Pumpkin Delights Cookies

Score: 6 / 10

Front box of Little Debbie Pumpkin Delights Cookies.

A bit chewy and has a nice, soft, pull-a-part texture. It’s a hint above semi sweet with a light pumpkin spice taste. Notably, I’m not sure if the super thin layer of filling in the middle adds much in terms of taste and texture as the entire cookie is soft and has uniform taste. Although, it does help make those semi-warped spooky faces.

Not sure when these were released but they come out around the late summer time every year.
