Scoring & Verdict

Desert Pepper Trading Co Cantina Mild Salsa

Score: 5.25 / 10

Review

Tasted like your stereotypical, inoffensive salsa. There’s not much kick to it, and the composition isn’t too thick, but it’s not liquid either; it’s just right. Perhaps I was wooed by the fancy branding, but this really is nothing special. Perhaps good for a house party of picky eaters; otherwise, I would get something different.

Signature Select Steakhouse Chili with Beans

Score: 5.75 / 10

Review

If you put this chili next to some generic chili, I wouldn’t be able to tell much of a difference. There’s some light chili-based seasoning with a very, very mild kick. Compositionally, it is fairly standard with the right amount of chunkiness, nothing out of the ordinary, though I did find three or four large chewy beef pieces, which was a nice surprise. Maybe I was too impressed that it didn’t come canned, but really, you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between this and your bog-standard chili from most brands.

Essentially, I’ve had better chili from other brands, and to note, it took me several bites to really start to notice its flavor, not just taste too bland. I suppose if you want something uninspiring and inoffensive, this would be for you; otherwise, skip it and go for something more name-brand or recognizable.

Morton & Bassett Peri Peri Seasoning

Score: 4 / 10

Review

This has a mild kick that tastes like they used multiple different peppers. Unfortunately, I found the aftertaste to be a bit stark and bitter, as if it were missing a touch of sweetness or salt to balance it. Ever have a whiff of straight cinnamon? It gave me that type of sensation.

To me, this didn’t really give off much Peri-Peri vibe; instead, it tasted more like a generic Middle Eastern seasoning. I really think that, most importantly, salt would have helped a lot with this seasoning. Overall, I don’t see a reason to add this seasoning to anything unless you already have something to balance or complement it.

Mr. Beast Featables The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Sour Boosts

Score: 5.75 / 10

Review

In essence, basically, these are all fairly sweet, fruity gummies. Interestingly, the flavors aren’t too distinct from each other, but there’s enough to notice the representative flavors. Since they’re on the sweeter side, it kind of undermines much of their supposed distinctiveness.

The overall taste of all of these resembles a typical fruity flavor, like Dum Dums or other fruity candies. These definitely fall more on the sweeter side and are lightly sour at best. I also appreciate how soft and chewy these are; they’re not hard and cheap feeling, they taste more premium than that. Overall, they’re sweet gummies, nothing to write home about.

And that mystery flavor? I’m going to guess a tropical mango or tangy orange.

Release Date

While I can’t find an exact release date, reviews date back to around April 2026. Found early May on the Five Below website in early May 2026.

Jelly Belly Endless Summer and Tropical Paradise Collection

Score: 7 / 10

Review

Overall, these two collections are very tasty, with flavors that are reasonably accurate and sweet. I’ve never been a huge fan of Jelly Belly or jelly beans in general; however, all of the flavors here are accurate and sweet, especially compared to many of their other flavors outside of these two collections, which I often find odd or inaccurate. Lastly, it is worth noting that some of the flavors overlap between the two.

So, after tasting Jelly Belly beans here, in rapid fire, here is my review:

For the Endless Summer Collection, we first have Blue Raspberry, which is sweet and has a noticeable but light candy-raspberry flavor. It falls more on the sugary side, but the flavor is still there. Similarly, Very Cherry is exactly as advertised and reasonably sweet, with a candy-like cherry taste that reminds me of cherry lemonade or a Dum-Dum lollipop, with a little more sugar. Orange Sherbet, my favorite of all of the flavors, is spot-on and reminds me of those sweet orange sherbet ice cream bars, but this is even a little sweeter — very refreshing and the sweetest of the bunch. Watermelon is a little less sweet than most other flavors and has a watermelon flavor that reminds me of watermelon lemonade, if you’ve ever had that — there’s an equal balance of sugar and watermelon here. Cotton Candy does taste like cotton candy, but it is artificial. It’s not bad, but it’s not great; it’s just clearly artificial, and the taste itself is a little less sweet than I would expect. Lemon Lime is mild to moderately sweet, with a very, very light sourish note and a distinct lemon-lime flavor. It is mostly pleasant, and I appreciate the sweetness that goes alongside it.

Coming from the Tropical Paradise Collection, Tangerine is the sweetest in this bunch, leaning more toward a sugary side with a moderate tangerine candy flavor. Pink Grapefruit has that traditional punchy flavor, but it’s not too bold here as the sweetness does dial it back a bit. It’s still pretty refreshing, with a distinct pink grapefruit taste you’ll enjoy. In fact, I think you might enjoy it more in this form because it’s not as super hard-hitting. My favorite of the bunch is the Pina Colada, because it tastes like a refreshing pina colada in candy form. It’s not super sweet, but it’s still fairly sweet, and it has a very distinct, invigorating pina colada taste at the same time. Chili Mango, honestly, is more like a generic fruity flavor I couldn’t really determine. I didn’t get any chili or mango from this; in fact, if you blindfolded me, I wouldn’t know exactly what flavor it was. Still, it’s fruity, fairly sweet, and tasty.

Release Date

Jelly Belly released Endless Summer and Tropical Paradise Collections in May 2026 as part of the company’s “Bean Appétit” rebrand campaign. The rollout also included the Signature 10, Signature 20, and Farmstand Fruit Collections. Found at Stop & Shop in late May 2026.

Bush’s Best Rocket Pop Flavored Baked Beans

Score: 3 / 10

Review

Opening these up, they smell like a combination of savory Bush’s baked beans and sweetness. There is a sweet, almost fruity aroma to them, and it complements them surprisingly well. Not a bad smell whatsoever!

Tasting them, the beans taste off, and frankly, I’m not sure it’s a rocket pop flavor precisely either. However, maybe they’re a reasonable rendition, given that its base still aims to deliver that generic, thick, savory bean flavor profile. It fails, though, and a few bites in, a weird, fruity-sweet taste takes over.

I actually didn’t think it was rocket pop-flavored until I looked at the can and really paid attention. Traditional rocket pop is much more nuanced, while this is a more generic, awkwardly fruity-sweet flavor, with an attempt to still balance it with some savory bean taste. It’s just weird—this flavor profile just doesn’t work.

Release Date

Bush’s released three different bean flavors in mid-late May 2026, including Rocket Pop, Apple Pie, and Dill Pickle. Found on the Walmart website in late May 2026.

M&S Percy Pig Gummy Candy

Score: 5.5 / 10

Review

These look like regular, cheap gummies, but when you pull them apart, they feel softer, even marshmallow-like. It has a pliable, soft-ish texture, not as hard as other gummies.

Biting into it, I am met with something of a combination of a regular gummy and a marshmallow. It’s like having something between 70% gummy and 30% marshmallow. Needless to say, they are on the softer side and deliver a subtle, noticeable marshmallow mouthfeel alongside your traditional gummy experience. It is a unique combination, making it quite a fun eating experience.

In terms of taste, compared to other gummies, these are much more pronounced and bold. It has a generic fruity taste with moderate sweetness. Similar to other gummies in the flavor profile, but these are much more flavorful overall.

As someone who doesn’t like gummies and even avoids them, these felt and tasted more high-end, and combined with that unique marshmallow-like feel, they are actually pretty good, and in my case, tolerable!

Release Date

Released in March 2025, exclusively at Target. Found at Target in early June 2026.

Palmer Breyers Cookies & Cream Candy Bar

Score: 7.25 / 10

Review

Well, it looks like a cookies-and-cream bar, with white chocolate-looking square pieces containing mini chocolate chips. If you’ve ever had Palmer candy, you know it’s usually sweet, but this feels even sweeter than their typical candy bars. It’s very clearly cookies-and-cream, with an exceptionally creamy, sweet taste. It really does taste more premium, perhaps thanks to its sweetness and notable creaminess, though a cheap white chocolate note persists throughout.

Nonetheless, I don’t think this detracts much because you’re overwhelmed by its sweetness and overall creamy cookie-and-cream flavor. Basically, they really did nail the cookies-and-cream flavor and added a bunch of extra sugar. It’s noticeably sweeter than most other cookies-and-cream bars I’ve ever had, including Hershey’s. Lastly, the embedded bits so provide a minuscule crunch and contrast to the candy bar.

So if you like cookies and cream, have a big sweet tooth, and don’t mind a lower-tier chocolate, this is for you. Also, I’m not sure why they advertise this candy bar as Breyers, because as someone who enjoys Breyers, this is much sweeter than the ice cream version.

Hello Kitty Regular and Sour Gummy Treats

Score: 3.5 / 10

Review

Needless to say, these look like regular, cheapo gummies. The sour ones have a light, typical sour-sugar coating, while the regular gummies look plain. Both are in the shapes of Hello Kitty’s face, although it’s hard to make out any features on the sour gummies.

For the regular gummies, they taste and have a mouthfeel of the most traditional cheap gummies you can find. They’re chewy and a little tough, mildly sweet, and all the advertised flavors taste the same–a mild sugary fruity flavor. Essentially, these are your standard cheap gummies despite the cute packaging and the Hello Kitty shapes.

For the sour version, it’s as you expect: these are their regular gummy treats with a sour twist. And honestly, it’s unexpectedly fairly sour; it won’t blow you away, but in my opinion, it’s definitely above average for a sour-based gummy candy. I was hoping the sourness would add or bring out more of the flavors, but unfortunately, these all still taste the same as the regular ones, but with a sour twist.

Release Date

The regular gummies were released in February 2013, and the sour version was released in August 2025. Found early June 2026 at Stop & Shop.

Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Gummy Fried Candy Candy Combo Meal

Score: 5.25 / 10

Review

I love this. All the contents come in a KFC-looking box appropriately labeled “Candy Combo Meal.” Because, after all, they are all lightly detailed and shaped like Fried Chicken gummy pieces, biscuits, French fries, mac & cheese, and even three different dipping sauces, which are supposed to represent sweet, sour, and spicy. Notably, the dipping sauces aren’t actually gummies; they’re thick, gel-like liquids. Also, don’t mistake the flavors; they aren’t as they look: the fried chicken legs and wings are tropical fruit-flavored, the french fries are pineapple-flavored, the mac & cheese are orange-flavored, and the biscuit is supposed to be mango-flavored.

All the gummy pieces feel the same (except the bisuit); they’re slightly tough, thick, and chewy, though they feel a smidge higher in quality than your typical gummies.

Fried Chicken: this tastes like a generic fruity flavor, and has a slight, off, dry-like, fake taste I can’t pinpoint. Play-dough? I can’t tell. Still, the flavor isn’t bad!

French Fries: A surprisingly moderately sweet mango comes across here. The taste is fairly accurate, and I appreciate how sweet it is — it’s the sweetest of the bunch; it really brings out the flavor.

Mac & Cheese: This tastes similar to the fried chicken gummies, but it’s a little sweeter, making it taste better. It still has a fake-off, putty taste, and I don’t think it’s explicitly pineapple either; it’s mostly a generic fruit flavor with a smidge of something tropical.

Biscuit: Interestingly, these are the softest ones here. You can bite right through it, and it feels more airy and thin, a lot like a biscuit! In terms of flavor, it’s mild to moderately sweet, with a light, generic tropical note but nothing explicit.

Dipping Sauces: The sweet sauce tastes like a generic, sugary candy sauce that you would dip your candy into, kind of like those other dipping candies. It’s moderately sweet, but it has a weirdly artificial sugar taste. The spicy sauce is a lot like the sweet one, but with a small addition of generic spiciness. It’s a weird combination — an artificial sugar with this super-light sour note. Lastly, the sour sauce has that sweet sauce base with just a smidge of sour. I feel like this sauce is better than the other two, but it’s definitely not sour by any stretch of the means.

Overall, the sauces tasted like regular, cheap dipping sauce you might find in other candies and had an artificial-sugar taste. Also, my favorite of the gummies was the French fries because they were so sweet and brought out the mango flavor. I also appreciated that, overall, this felt like a more premium gummy experience, at least compared to most cheap gummies on the market. As someone who doesn’t tend to enjoy gummies, I still appreciated these.

Released in summer 2025. Found early June 2026 at Stop & Shop.
