I will be ranking and reviewing any and all of the G Fuel drink Hydration powders that I can get my gamer hands on!
G Fuel has been around since 2012. While focused on caffeine-based energy drink powders, they also have product lines for non-caffeinated powders as part of their Hydration powders.
What do these have in common?
Compared to many other energy drink powders on the market, they fall on the expensive side. More importantly, I noticed they are a lot less sweet and flavor-pronounced compared to their rivals. Really, these all fall on mildly sweet at best, and in my opinion, don’t provide that good of a drinking experience unless you add more or sweeten it up. At the same time, these are some of the most unique energy drink flavors I’ve found on the market.

1. PewDiePie Lingonberry
Review
A light and smooth fruity-like berry is what this reminds me of. Not to be confused with something anywhere close to being punchy or as sweet as say strawberry or a raspberry, it moreso feels like a distant, laid back red-berried cousin. Basically, it’s a pleasant fruity drink that doesn’t go overboard and stays in its lane, so if you want something more heavy-hitting, you may want to avoid this.
Release Date
While I can’t find an exact release date, mentions of this date date back to October 2023, with its energy-based formula released years prior.
2. Naruto Shippuden Sage Mode Grapefruit White Peach
Review
Smelling this powder, I got a whiff of what’s advertised; what’s especially noticeable is the white peach flavor, and indeed, throwing it in some water, it does lean that way. It’s not a punchy flavor necessarily, though; there is a tiny peachy kick, coming across as smoother than perhaps it should be due to the “white” flavoring. The grapefruit itself feels more like a background flavor, and it works well enough, at least.
Release Date
Released January 16, 2024.
3. Miku’s Sweet Melodies Rock Candy
Review
I have always felt that rock candy tasted “odd.” Something about it felt like an artificial sugar mixed with even more cheap fake flavoring. This is a lot like that, and not necessarily in a bad way. Unfortunately, I can’t discern precisely what type of rock candy flavor it’s trying to mimic, but I get that same “fake fruit/berry candy” flavor. It seems to be a mix of several artificial flavors, to say the least. Lastly, I liked how green the powder was and how dark blue it turned my drink–a lot more colorful than other G Fuels here!
Release Date
Released May 2024.
4. Hype Sauce Raspberry Lemonade
Review
Decently punchy raspberry smell, and the taste is a lot like that. Of course, this is G Fuel; most of the powders are mild-tasting, so don’t expect a full-blown slap to the mouth there. In addition to the raspberry, there is an essence of lemonade, so for the most part, what you do get is an authentic raspberry taste at the forefront. I imagine adding more of this to your drink will spike it even more!
Release Date
Released September 9, 2019.
5. Sonic the Hedgehog Peach Rings Peach Candy
Review
A plain peach. Nothing else. No punchiness, no real sweetness, no distinctness. It’s an authentic-tasting peachy powder that dies quickly on your taste buds.
Release Date
Released June 2020.
6. Shock Mango Lemonade
Review
I genuinely don’t know what flavor they’re aiming for. It’s not really mango nor lemon, and definitely not mango lemonade. It tastes like some mix of artificial fruits. Interestingly, it didn’t change the color of my drink much either–perhaps a testament to how boring it is!
Release Date
Released November 2022.
