Ben & Jerry’s S’mores Cookie Dough Mix

Score: 7.25 / 10

Review

I love cookie dough, and after eating these, I did expect better, especially from a premium company like Ben & Jerry’s.

What’s done decently well enough is the composition. The cookie dough pieces are soft, chewy, and firm, essentially giving authentic cookie dough vibes. On the other hand, the thickly covered chocolate marshmallow pieces provide a light crunch, which helps contrast the texture.

Then there’s the flavor.

Overwhelmingly, this is a mildly sweet, buttery graham cracker mix, and that’s because there is an overly generous amount of graham cracker-tasting cookie dough pieces. To me, there are too many of these pieces and not enough of the marshmallow truffles. Together, what you get is a s’more that seems to lean too much toward graham cracker and not the sweet chocolate and gooey marshmallow they’re famous for.

S’mores vibes, but too much graham. It’s good; however, it could be so much better if they just tweaked it by adding more chocolate and marshmallow.

Release Date

Released February 6, 2022, alongside a Peanut Butter variant. Found at Target in July 2025.

Athens Hot Honey Pepperoni Phyllo Bites

Score: 7 / 10

Review

We air-fried these.

These are lightly airy and crunchy and, overall, are disappointingly on the thinner side overall. This is expected because it’s phyllo, although there don’t seem to be layers of stacked phyllo like a few other baked pastries offer. It suffices but it feels like a missed opportunity.

Flavor-wise, it’s almost a pizza, I think. It’s mildly seasoned pepperoni with a tiny kick stuffed inside a square phyllo pastry. At the very least, it makes me want to taste a pizza, but perhaps it doesn’t just quite hit precisely like that. The overall flavor isn’t that strong either, including the pepperoni; despite the seasoning, it’s quite light, and frankly, I expected more. This includes the spiciness, as well as a little more pepperoni inside—it does seem like there isn’t too much inside these after taking a second glance!

I know I’m all over the place with these, but basically, they’re good; they just need a few minor improvements on the overall product to really help bring it to the next level.

Release Date

While I can’t find an exact release date, reviews date back to early June 2025. Found at Target early August 2025.

Atkins Strong Birthday Cake High Protein Bar

Score: 7 / 10

Review

When I bite in, I can’t help but notice a dry-like taste and feel on my tongue. Not overly so, but it’s definitely noticeable. That aside, the thin white chocolate shell does help with the creaminess, and the inside, while dry, is lightly chewy and soft to bite through. Notably, it is semi-thick but not as thick as I’ve had from other protein bars.

The flavor to me tastes like an artificial, typical vanilla protein taste, definitely not birthday cake like it says. It’s also decently sweet too, though that artificial vanilla does bring it down a little bit—if only it were more authentic tasting!

I’ve had many better-tasting vanilla and birthday cake flavored protein bars. These may suffice, but again, there are better ones out there that offer more authentic flavors and better textures.

Release Date

While I can’t find an exact release date, mention of this and a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough variant dates back to April 2025. Found on the Vitacost website early August 2025.

Made Good Soft Baked Mini Cookies Red Velvet and Snickerdoodle

Score: 4.5 / 10 (for both)

Review

Why did they have to ruin two of my favorite flavors?

These are too organic and artificial. Too much. It just overpowers the advertised Red Velvet and Snickerdoodle flavors. Simply put, both of these have a noticeable organic, almost earthy taste and composition. And not in a good way either—no, something about it, both in texture and taste, is artificial. Like, the cookies are tolerable, I guess, but the flavors are ruined. Not to mention, both taste very similar because the red velvet and snickerdoodle do get overpowered by this odd, fake flavor.

Still, there is a minor taste difference. The red velvet cookie tastes odd and has an inauthentic flavor that seems to try to be a red velvet and fails, and the same can be said for the snickerdoodle cookie, which seems to have an overpronunciation of cinnamon. Neither tastes correct.

I did mention before—the texture is also just not great. It’s soft and dry with an oaty, organic mouthfeel that makes you want to sip some water. It just doesn’t feel great biting in and chewing. The overall experience of these is not great, and I’d wager even those into organic-tasting snacks might shy away from these.

Note: Each box comes with several tiny cookies in multiple sealed bags.

Release Date

I’m unsure of a release date for either of these. Found on the Vitacost website early August 2025.

Nature Valley Chocolate Turtle with Peanut & Caramel Soft Baked Bars

Score: 6.75 / 10

Review

Nothing too crazy here. It’s pretty much your typical soft oat baked bar with a moderately sweet chocolate that leans towards a darker tone. Overall, it tastes good, especially with the oaty-like taste that doesn’t come across as too earthy or organic. On top of all that, there are a few embedded nutty pieces and a gloop of caramel on the center top, which complements it all nicely.

As I said before, this is a soft oat bar, so the texture resembles just that: reasonably thick, a little dry, and somewhat crumbly. The little plop of caramel goo seems to help a lot by providing some additional moistness and contrast, though I wish there was more of it.

Counting all this up, this resembles an authentic turtle and oat flavor. Of course, just to point out—it’s not like a candy bar or anything like that, so if you’re expecting a sugary sweet turtle flavor, this isn’t it.

Release Date

While I can’t find an exact release date, the earliest review I could find dates to April 2025. I did notice this appeared at the same time as a Salted Caramel version. Found at Aldi in early August 2025.

Atkins Cookie Fusion High Protein Bar

Score: 7.5 / 10

Review

What am I supposed to be tasting here? Genuinely, it feels like several different very mild flavors put together. I think what I get are cookies and cream, caramel, and regular chocolate cookies. They’re mixed well together—almost too well, as these bars don’t have a distinct taste, it’s much more nuanced. Together, it’s a mild-to-moderately sweet creamy bar that leans towards a variety of cookie-like flavors.

It sounds like I’m making fun of this, but I’m not. It’s genuinely tasty, and it’s also interesting how they melded together all these flavors without one overpowering another, and most importantly—this protein bar doesn’t have a weird protein-like taste. The cookie parts and caramel taste authentic, and coupled with the vanilla-chocolate creamy shell, it all fits together well enough.

So, you got a creamy cookie protein bar, and in addition, with the mix of all these flavors comes the composition. Overall, it’s fairly thick and soft and has some crunchy bits too. Not to mention, the thin layer of caramel does have some small pull action when you bite in–neat!!

There’s a lot going on with this bar, and in my opinion, if you’re big into cookie-based flavors, you should definitely give this one a try!

Release Date

I cannot find a release date or many mentions of this item, although I first spotted it on the Vitacost website in early August 2025.

Cookie Dough Bites Just The Dough Cookies ‘N Cream

Score: 7 / 10

This “cookie dough” is on the drier, more crumbly side. They’re still soft and slightly chewy, though; I’m still not sure if I’d call these exactly cookie dough either.

They’re sweet and have a tiny crunch from the embedded cookie pieces. Unfortunately, it’s mostly a creamy, sugary taste, not really a cookies and cream per se. I do wish it had more of a nuanced flavor.

I guess for the price and the fact that they can sit out at room temperature makes them versatile. Also, what other cookie dough can sit out at such temperatures in a package like this? Either way, it’s a good sweet treat.

Released November 20, 2024. Found on the Target website in July 2025.

Jordan’s Skinny Mixes Skinnyccino Caramel and Vanilla

Score: 5.25 / 10 (for both)

Review

After the first few sips, I immediately noticed it does run on the thinner side as if it were made almost exclusively with water. This is typical with many coffees, but if you’re someone who enjoys thicker, creamier versions, you’ll be disappointed at the mouthfeel.

Both flavors are decent enough, especially for a low-calorie, higher-protein-based coffee. They both taste as if they were made with the same base, so they do actually taste similar, the difference being that the caramel one has an additional mild artificial caramel and vanilla flavor, while the vanilla one leaves out the caramel. Also similarly, while it is runny, there is also a distinct whole milk flavor.

Going back, I did say they taste artificial, but honestly, it’s not that off-putting, though if you’re a coffee snob, you might raise an eyebrow.

What really bothers me about the flavors is the lack of an authentic, bold coffee flavor. If you blindfolded me and asked me what kind of drinks these were, I’m not sure if I would have immediately guessed “coffee.” Instead, they fall for a generic, moderately sweet drink treat, if that makes sense—or maybe I’m just in my head…

Anyway, these really aren’t bad and may be worth a try, especially if you want something healthier. To me, they’re “good enough” but don’t go much further. I’ve had much better coffees, including ones that have used sweeteners and sugar-free syrups.

Release Date

Both were released on March 11, 2025. Found on the Jordan’s Skinny Mixes website early August 2025.
