Moser Roth Holiday Favorites Chocolate Collection
Scores: 7.25-8 / 10

Review
Note: I found that Specially Selected also made a near-identical version!
To summarize, these are premium tasting and mouth-feeling truffles. Each one is unique, whether containing different layers, crunchiness, the flavors themselves, and more. Personally, I always found Moser Roth to be hit or miss; however, they definitely hit a home run with these! All of the flavors are well represented, authentic, and mild to moderately sweet. Whether you’re a sweets lover, want something different, or even truffles that don’t overwhelm you with sugar, these are a great option!
Crispy Praline (8 / 10)
My favorite of the bunch! It has a super soft, sweet dark chocolate goo at the bottom, all wrapped in a dark chocolate shell and milk chocolate solid layer on top, as well as some crunchy pralines. It’s sweet, semi-dark, and has a light nutty taste. The combinations of textures are great, the shell is thick and snappy, and you’re met with a gooey soft inside. Quadruple layered, nuanced flavors–it feels premium… yeah, this is the one!
8/10
Hot Chocolate Marshmallow (7.75 / 10)
A fairly thick, solidified marshmallow layer is the bulk of this. Then, you get a thick gooey dark chocolate layer too, a lightly crunchy shell, and even another milk chocolate layer–it’s very chocolately, and definitely sports hot chocolate vibes, though I wouldn’t say I explicitly get any marshmallow, but it’s creamy enough to consider. I especially love how many layers there are and how authentic the flavor is.
Lemon Creme Brulee (7.5 / 10)
Lightly soft, hard, solidified bottom, thick, soft, white chocolate piece on top, and wrapped in a mild dark chocolate. The lemon is light and mildly sweet, not at all punchy–it’s smooth and inoffensive, especially combined with the creaminess of the white part. Overall, this truffle tastes like a mildly sweet white chocolate, a background of regular chocolate, and a light lemon. I like the mix of the snappy and solid, thick textures presented throughout. Notably, this is one of the lesser sweet truffles of the lot.
Raspberry Meringue (7.5 / 10)
Meringue? Not quite, though it’s exceptionally creamy from the white chocolate-based part and has a light, candy raspberry taste from the solid red filling. Essentially, it’s a creamy, smooth raspberry that leans more towards the sweeter side.
Maple Flavor and Pecan (7.5 / 10)
Thick shell with a slightly softer inside, which consists of a pretty sweet and strong maple pecan flavor. The chocolate shell is between milk and dark and works well. Surprisingly, the pecan is noticeable, though not too nutty, and is complemented well by the notes of sweet caramel. Despite saying “Masple Flavor,” it tastes mostly authentic and doesn’t come across as too sweet or candy-like.
Salted Caramel Cheesecake (7.5 / 10)
Identical in texture to cookie butter: thick shell, soft, mostly solid mousse-like inside. The caramel is reasonably sweet and not too candy-like; it tastes more premium than that in a way. The chocolate is also pretty light, so what you get is mostly a caramel-tasting piece of chocolate with a nice, thick, crunchy shell. While I didn’t explicitly get any cheesecake from this, at least to me, this tastes like an overall solid piece of smooth, caramel chocolate truffle.
Tart Cherry (7.25 / 10)
A super-thick, dark chocolate shell with a gooey, almost solid inside that has a tart-ish cherry flavor. I say tart-ish because while it feels like it’s trying, it still comes off as something that’s more mildly punchy instead of fully slapping you in the face. Notably, the cherry is authetic tasting, and its dark chocolate shell works in tandem, almost making it seem like you dipped a sour cherry in dark chocolate. with an authentic cherry tart taste.
Cookie Butter (7.25 / 10)
This is one of the more boring ones and has a similar makeup to Salted Caramel Cheesecake. You got a thick milk chocolate shell and a soft-solid, cookie butter-looking inside–no other layers here. It’s a very authentic cookie butter taste, decently sweet, though it could be a smidge more. It’s overall smooth, and the light milk chocolate shell works in sync without overwhelming the cookie butter filling. This is for those who don’t want a super sweet truffle and want a smooth and lightly sweet, nuanced cookie butter with chocolate. I feel that if they had added a little more cookie butter sweetness, it could have been a lot better.
Release Date
While I can’t find a release date, reviews date back to November 2024, though I suspect they’ve been around before that. Found mid-November 2025 alongside a similar product called Winter Classics that held a few other truffle variations.
Moser Roth Summer Edition Chocolate Bars: Passion Fruit, Strawberry Vanilla, and Rhubarb Crumble
Scores: 7.25 / 10 (for each)

Review
Overall, these three bars are some of the most unique candy bars I’ve had. It all depends on your mood and what you want to go for. Each one presents a different tasty experience.
Passion Fruit: Consisting of a thin, crunchy shell that houses a layer of soft cream and sticky goo, the composition has a good mouthfeel and is pleasant to bite into. Flavor-wise, it’s a surprisingly bold, sweet, fruity, and creamy passion fruit. It hits you pretty hard, honestly, though I feel like the white chocolate shell tames it just enough.
Strawberry Vanilla: This is much more tame and creamy compared to the others. Still, it’s fairly sweet and, of course, as advertised, has a creamy strawberry taste. The texture is also very similar to the passion fruit, having a layer of goo and soft-solid filling. Overall, this might be the most inoffensive candy bar here. I also really like the light taste of white chocolate, which adds further creaminess to it.
Rhubarb Crumble: Both sweet and somewhat bitter in taste. Inside is a soft-solid white filling, not quite as pleasantly textured as the other two bars, in my opinion, as it’s missing the goo. Its combination of bitter and sweet rhubarb flavor with a hint of chocolate makes it quite unique! Lastly, despite the advertising, I didn’t get really any crunch from this aside from the shell.
Moser Roth Chocolate Mousse Filled: Dark Chocolate Creme and Orange, and Chocolate and White Chocolate Delice Truffle Filled
Scores:
Chocolate Creme: 6.5 / 5
Orange: 7 / 10
Chocolate Delice Truffle: 7.5 / 10
White Chocolate Delice Truffle: 7 / 10

Review
Note: Above room temperature, these already start to get very soft, flimsy, and nearly melt, especially the Truffle ones. Really, it becomes an awful experience! Be careful! Keep them cool!
That aside, what all of these have in common is the crunchy shell that nicely breaks apart when biting into a piece. It’s really nice and complements the soft inner textures.
Chocolate Creme: The entire bar has the same flavor, more or less. It’s a decently sweet dark chocolate bar with a soft ganache inside that crunchily breaks apart once you bite in; I love this texture, personally. The shell-to-filling ratio is also awesome, as neither seems too thick nor too thin. However, despite being sweet and having an amazing mouthfeel from the texture, there is a noticeable bitter dark cocoa flavor that, in my opinion, detracts from it all. I guess it just isn’t my thing, but it may be for you if you’re into dark chocolates.
Orange: A punchy, sweet, sticky, gooey orange center is cradled by a complementary dark chocolate shell. It reminds me of other chocolate orange-based candies, except I can’t say I’ve had one explicitly with orange-flavored goo. Both of these flavors here are nice, and even though the orange is punchy, it’s almost kind of refreshing in a way, especially with the dark chocolate.
Chocolate Delice Truffle: The shell is so creamy and soft, and when you bite in, it introduces you to an even creamier, soft ganache truffle layer. It’s a fairly sweet milk chocolate, and it indeed feels like you’re eating an extremely soft milk chocolate truffle in bar form. This is my favorite of the bunch!
White Chocolate Delice Truffle: Like its chocolate counterpart, it’s extremely creamy and has a soft center; however, it doesn’t feel as sweet. This comes across as a bit above semi-sweet with a genuine white chocolate flavor. Overall, more boring than I would have liked, it’s more or less just a decent white chocolate bar. Still, don’t get me wrong, it’s not terrible; I just expected more.
Release Date
While I’m not sure of an exact release date, I found these at Aldi in April 2025, and at least according to the packaging, they may have been released around that time.

Moser Roth Chocolate Truffle Eggs
Score: 7.75 / 10

Review
There are a few different truffles presented here, and for the most part, they have a lot of similarities. First, the shells seem a little harder and crunchier than other truffles, Lindt, for example; still, they feel premium, and it doesn’t detract from the experience. Lastly, the inside parts are made of a soft ganache.
In rapid-fire…
The chocolate truffle is soft and tastes like a moderately sweet chocolate with a soft ganache inside; it’s pretty ordinary. Raspberry is reasonably sweet too, although I’m not sure if it’s exactly raspberry. It’s very creamy; in fact, I’d say that overall, it’s a light raspberry, but it’s mostly cream-tasting, which comes out nicely.
The strawberry ones are, despite being creamy like the others, also the most punchy. They sport a distinct, genuine strawberry rhubarb taste where the strawberry kind of just hits you with a sour note. Lemon is light like the raspberry, mostly creamy, which is nice because lemon is normally punchy, and this time, it takes a back row seat. Finally, caramel, like the chocolate truffle flavor, is pretty normal and is simply a lightly sweet caramel flavor.
Overall, a great combination of different flavors, mostly light and creamy.
Release Date
Released February 2025 for the Easter season. Found at Aldi, April 2025.
Moser Roth Spring Chocolate Truffles
Score: 7.75 / 10 (overall)

Review
What I like most about these isn’t the variety of flavors; it’s the texture. Thick, soft-crunchy shells with a super-soft ganache provide the inner, flavorful sweet filling.
Caramel macchiato–my favorite from the bunch! They provide a fairly sweet, milk chocolate taste with a light coffee flavoring as a side. It’s a good combination and doesn’t taste too artificial or fake; in fact, it’s quite pleasant, as the coffee part isn’t too strong or bitter—notably, it falls on its sugary sweet side.
The next interesting one is the passion fruit, and, well, it just isn’t my thing. It’s reasonably sweet, and there’s a fruity, creamy passion fruit taste. It sounds good, but just something about the passion fruit in this form and the sweetness isn’t my thing. Perhaps the worst of the bunch, although it’s still decent.
Dark Chocolate is very typical. It’s sweet, dark, and a little bitter despite the sugar. It feels like around 70 percent dark chocolate. The inner filling and shell taste uniform.
Strawberry is decent, definitely a sugary strawberry that isn’t too candy-like. The shell provides some creaminess to the flavor. That’s really it!
Release Date
I’m unsure of a release date for these, although they likely are only around for the spring season. Found at Aldi, April 2025.
Moser Roth St. Patrick’s Day Chocolate Truffles
Score: 8 / 10

Review
The standout and unique truffle here is the Irish Coffee flavor. It’s definitely an Irish coffee flavoring with a very sweet and creamy taste. Really, they should make a whole box dedicated to just this one! It feels authentic and is quite enjoyable to savor. Interestingly, the center looks like chocolate but doesn’t at all taste like it!
As for the others, they’re all quite sweet, and as advertised for their flavor, I just feel like they’re kind of boring and too traditional: sweet vanilla, sweet chocolate, etc. Their sweetness levels are close to Russell Stover candies, but the big benefit is that they taste less artificial. Regardless, I especially like how thick the shells are, and with a thick, soft-solid ganache filling, it all feels premium and a cut above the rest in terms of the truffle market.
Release Date
These came around February 26, 2025, although earlier-year releases have been noted. Found at Aldi, March 2025.
Moser Roth Cinco De Mayo Chocolates
Score: 8 / 10

Review
A small box of well-decorated, diverse Latin-based flavored chocolates. My personal favorite is the horchata, as it nails the flavor perfectly–well, they all do! These are honestly some of the most unique chocolates I’ve tasted. I also love how thick the truffle shell is with the super soft filling.
Release Date
Likely first released in late April 2023 for Cinco de Mayo. Released again around the same time in 2024. Exclusive to Aldi. Found at Aldi, August 2024.
Moser Roth Valentine’s Chocolate Truffles
Score: 8 / 10

Review
It’s so much more premium tasting and less sweet than your typical run-of-the-mill Russell Stover or Whitman truffles. The shells on these are thick, semi-sweet, and contain a sweet-tasting filling. Every part of it screams premium, and each truffle has a distinct, bold flavor. Also, they’re so cutely decorated!
Release Date
Not sure when this Aldi Valentine’s exclusive was released. Found February 2024 at Aldi.

Moser Roth Chocolate Truffles
Score: 7.5 / 10

Review
From lightly sweet dark chocolate to the sweet white chocolate truffles, these all taste premium. Each one has a thick shell with a soft filling. For the price, these taste so much more premium than they let on.
Release Date
Not sure when these were released, although this brand is produced by Storck for Aldi stores. Found at Aldi, November 2023.

Moser Roth Mini Chocolades Filled with Hazelnut Creme
Score: 7 / 10

Review
Each of these is annoyingly individually wrapped and is troublesome to peel off the foil. They’re all hard-shelled milk chocolate balls that have a semi-soft hazelnut-flavored center that’s reminiscent of Nutella but not as sweet.
Release Date
Not sure when these were released, although this brand is produced by Storck for Aldi stores. Found at Aldi, November 2023.
