Zombie Flavored Takis

Score: 5.5 / 10

Front package of Zombie flavored Takis.

I love spicy food and spicy chips, and these definitely hit those notes. It’s spicier than your average spicy chips, and it lingers for a good amount of time. There’s also an interesting flavor that is paired with it, although I’m not sure exactly what it is. Lime and something else? I’m not sure. Anyway, I do wish the spiciness was toned down a little to make room for more flavor.

Released in 2017 in early fall to celebrate Halloween. Some report they were discontinued around 2019, while the company claims they’ve always been around. Whatever the case, all outlets do seem to agree that these have been fans’ and social media favorites, and they are back for the 2023 season.

Hostess Ding Dongs Flavored Popcorn

Score: 6.5 / 10

Front package of Hostess Ding Dings Flavored Popcorn.

Nice crunch and a good, mildly sweet chocolate. As advertised, this chocolate tastes just like Ding Dong chocolate, although the creme part of the Ding Dong is missing. Basically, a chocolatey-covered popcorn

Released around July 2023 alongside a Twinkie flavored version.

Trader Joe’s Ube Mochi Pancake & Waffle Mix

Score: 3.5 / 10

Wait… these are just plain, slightly chewy pancakes. It’s even almost a bit bitter. Aside from being purple, there’s nothing really good about these. Not much else to say!

This may have been released sometime in 2020, according to early reviews. It apparently was discontinued at some point and then brought back in 2022.

TooGoodGourmet Blondie Batter Cookies

Score: 5.5 / 10

Front box of tooGoodGourmet Blondie Batter Cookies.

Soft, slightly chewy cookies with a vanilla cake batter blondie taste. This taste is artificial and bitter; it almost stings your mouth a bit. At the same time, they’re a bit sweet but not too much either. I’m a bit disappointed they don’t have the full cookie batter texture, it’s just kinda thin and a bit soft, it feels a bit misleading. Overall, I expected more out of these.

The company has been around since 1999, not sure when they released this. Found at Ocean State Job Lot.
