Reviewing Reese’s Dipped Animal Crackers, Orange Creme Pop Twinkies, & More

Updated:

This snack review has Reese’s Dipped Animal Crackers, De La Rosa Peanut Marzipan, Orange Creme Pop Twinkies, Lay’s BLT Sandwich, and Wavy Cuban Sandwich chips. The most interesting to me was the new Lay’s chips; both were unique, and I’m glad to always try new flavored chips. I didn’t necessarily have any favorites, although I’m a bit disappointed with how the Orange Creme Pop Twinkies were. They could have been so much better.

Reese’s Dipped Animal Crackers

Score: 7 / 10

Front of Reese's Dipped Animal Crackers package.

Despite only having a thin layer of peanut wrapped around the cracker and a thin layer of chocolate on top, these were still fairly sweet and tasted as if you were eating a very crunchy Reese’s. Worth a try if you love Reese’s!

Released January 2023. Found at Walmart.

De La Rosa Peanut Marzipan

Score: 6 / 10

Front package of De La Rosa Peanut Parzipan snack box.
2023 box.

Very crumbly, as well as soft, and peanuty are three words that describe this marzipan snack perfectly. They come in little round packaged thick discs and have a sweet, peanut taste to them. They’re fairly dry and incredibly crumbly; be careful, as they’re messy!

I’m not sure when these were released. Found at Walmart.

Orange Creme Pop Twinkies

Score: 6 / 10

Unlike many of the other fruity Twinkies flavors, these could have been so much better. They are very similar to the original Twinkies, except with a hint of orange in the background, nothing more. Overall, I expected something a bit stronger.

Released summer 2019, these have come and gone off store shelves making them often hard to find. Found at Dollar General.

Lay’s Wavy Cuban Sandwich Chips

Score: 8 / 10

Front package of Lays limited edition Wavy Cuban Sandwich chips.

It tastes a lot like a Cuban sandwich! You can taste the pickle, meat, and other flavors with a small kick of spiciness. It’s likely as close as you can come to making a Cuban sandwich chips flavor.

Released early May 2023 alongside other limited edition flavors, including BLT and Buffalo Chicken. Found at Target.

Lay’s BLT Sandwich Chips

Score: 5 / 10

Front package of Lays limited edition BLT chips.

It smells almost like salty vinegar chips but not as strong. Tasting it, I noticed that it has more of a light vinegar, semi-meat-like taste. I can’t explain it, but it’s not exactly meat or vinegar. Do I taste tomato and lettuce? I’m not sure… It’s hard to describe exactly what I’m tasting. It’s not bad, though; it’s just OK.

Released early May 2023 alongside other limited edition flavors, including Cuban Sandwich and Buffalo Chicken. Found at Target.
