Hostess Twinkies Flavored Popcorn

Score: 6 / 10

I absolutely love Twinkies but this was a let-down. I mean, it smells a bit like Twinkies but the taste, not so much. It’s mostly plain tasting and lightly sugary sweet, reminding me of caramelized popcorn. Just like caramelized popcorn, it’s nicely crunchy. I’m not sure how to improve this because Twinkie-anything would simply be sugar and vanilla, so in a way, these are somewhat of an accurate rendition.

Released in 2023 along with a Ding Dong flavor. Found at Dollar Tree.

Hostess Ding Dong Flavored Popcorn

Score: 5 / 10

Mostly plain with a very light, semi-sweet chocolate coating. The coating is incredibly thin and really, Hostess needs to add a lot more to make this popcorn worth your while. Even the texture is only slightly more crunchy than that of regular popcorn. Other than that, it’s kind of just… bland and boring.

Released in 2023 along with a Twinkie flavor. Found at Dollar Tree.

Pearson’s Skippy Salted Peanut Butter Nut Roll

Score: 6.5 / 10

Indeed, these are very salty nuts! Even the peanut butter that makes up its form isn’t able to overpower it. Since it mostly consists of peanut butter, it’s soft and has a nice texture. The embedded nuts are a nice addition to the composition and don’t make it too crunchy.

Released in 2023 as part of the 90th anniversary of the Nut Roll. Found at Dollar Tree.

Mrs. Freshley’s Peanut Butter Buddy Bars

Score: 7 / 10

If you have ever had those cheaply thin, biscuity wafer cookies, this is very similar to those. However, these with a thin layer of chocolate around it and an equally thin layer of peanut butter through the center. It all feels cheap but more premium than your regular biscuit cookies. The peanut isn’t that strong, neither is the chocolate, and it all tastes low quality. Still, not horrible, however, it could be so much better with a thicker layer of peanut butter.

Not sure when these were released. Found at Dollar Tree.

Sweet Chaos Peanut Butter Cup Drizzled Popcorn

Score: 6.5 / 10

The light chocolate drizzle is more powerful than I expected. It’s pretty chocolatey with a very small peanuty taste. Really, this could pass as simply a chocolate drizzled popcorn. The popcorn itself is reasonably crunchy and soft.

Not sure when these were released, although some reviews date back to 2021. Found at Ocean State Job Lot.

Chips Ahoy! Cookie Pop Popcorn

Score: 7 / 10

Lines of milk chocolate drizzle layer this semi crunchy popcorn. There are also tiny bits of crunchy cookie that add a little bit to the complexity of the texture. I really appreciate how perfectly sweet these are because indeed, these will satisfy your sweet tooth without being too much

Released some time ago; some reviews date back to around 2020. Found at Ocean State Job Lot. This brand also has other flavors including Candy Pop and Cereal Pop popcorns, as well as other Cookie Pop flavors.

Nonni’s Salted Caramel Biscotti

Score: 7.5 / 10

Crunchy and caramely. For a biscotti, it’s on the sweeter side with as you might suspect, a caramel flavor. There’s also little embedded chewy pieces throughout the cookie which add to the texture. Overall, it’s sweet, salty, and tasty, however, I’m not sure if this would pair well with an equally sweet coffee or tea, perhaps keep your side-drink without added sweeteners!

Not sure when these were released. Found at Ocean State Job Lot.

Leona Sheherezada Caramel

Score: 7.5 / 10

So, so soft, in fact, mine were nearly melted despite an only slightly warm temperature. Throwing them in the fridge, they became a soft ganache. Their composition is interesting too, containing layers from chocolate to caramel, but it’s different than you might think. All of it is the same ganache texture, even the caramel isn’t at all sticky or anything like a regular caramel. The taste is moderately sweet and is a mix of light chocolate and caramel. Basically, don’t confuse it with American chocolate or caramel, it’s not that sweet!

Not sure when these were released. Found at Ocean State Job Lot.

Rule Breaker Gingerbread Bites

Score: 7.5 / 10

Soft, moist, and lightly chewy. It reminds me of semi-cookie but still raw cookie dough. There’s a nice, fairly sweet gingerbread taste that isn’t too sweet or too bitter. The little white bits in them don’t seem to add anything in either the flavor or texture department.

Not sure when these were released. Found at Ocean State Job Lot.

Cup Noodles Campfire S’mores

Score: 5 / 10

Actually not bad, trust me! The noodles themselves are plain and get the flavor from the broth. This broth is simply a light hot chocolate. So, if you like hot chocolate, and aren’t too weirded out by the texture of noodles, this is pleasantly OK.

Released July 1, 2024, exclusively to Walmart, likely only for the summer.
