Entenmann’s Devil’s Food Crumb Donuts
Score: 7 / 10
Pretty sweet and at the same time has a semi-dark chocolate taste with a texture that’s moist and soft. The lightly crunchy crumb and sugar topping is also a great addition and adds further composition complexity. Overall, a delightful chocolate donut, especially if you like toppings.
Given Entenmann’s long history (debuting 1898), they’ve made donuts for quite some time, although I’m not sure about the details regarding this flavor
Cinnabon Cinnamon Swirled Cake Donuts
Score: 8.5 / 10
Thick, soft, moist, these nicely glazed donuts have a super tasty cinnamon and sugar taste, though, more like a cinnamon roll than a Cinnabon. Tastes and feels more premium compared to your average everyday donut. Not to mention, there aren’t many cinnamon roll tasting donuts out there!
Released around January 2024, may be exclusive to certain places like 7 – Eleven. Found at Speedway.
Hostess Limited Edition Strawberry Cupcakes
Score: 8 / 10
Moderately sweet with such a creamy strawberry taste. Interestingly, it doesn’t come across as too artificial and the strawberry isn’t at all overpowering or fake. Like other Hostess Cupcakes, these are super soft, thick, and moist. Basically, your traditional Hostess Cupcake with a creamy strawberry flavor.
Released for a limited time February 2018. These have come around every now and then since. Found at Speedway.
Kellogg’s Cinnabon Jumbo Snax
Score: 6.5 / 10
Smells and tastes just like a sweet Cinnabon cinnamon roll albeit, there is a mild odd aftertaste that I can’t seem to pinpoint the cause or taste exactly. Texture is good: crunchy but not hard or rough, it’s quite pleasant to eat. Definitely a must try for Cinnabon fans.
Released April 2021. Found at Speedway.
Ferroro Rocher Grand Assortment
Score: 8 / 10
Your standard two Ferroro Rocher flavors along with coffee and almond based ones. They’re all reasonably sweet and the texture is both soft and crunchy from the variety of ingredients thrown in. Overall, it’s good, but I question the fancy plastic packaging and high cost when I could just get most of the candies in this one but cheaper in other not-as-special packaging.
Ferrero has been around since 1982. Not sure when they released this specific product.
Kellogg’s Peeps Rice Krispies Treats
Score: 5.5 / 10
Mostly tastes like a regular Peeps, there’s just something different, something more neutral tasting. Perhaps it’s the Rice Krispies flavor mixed in but I can’t tell because after all, Rice Krispies is pretty plain!
Likely early released some time December 2023, though, reports seem to indicate an official spring or Easter release exclusive to Walmart. Found mid February at Walmart.
Ghirardelli Limited Edition Creme Brulee White Chocolate Hearts
Score: 6 / 10
A solid candy that has a semi-creamy and semi-sweet white-chocolate-like taste with crisps embedded in them. It’s not exactly white chocolate and I can’t tell if it’s creme brulee either. There is also a slight “burnt” aftertaste to them as well. It isn’t off-putting necessarily, just different, which brings this back around: basically, this candy is mostly just a differently tasting white chocolate crunchy bar.
Likely released January 2018 for the Valentine’s season. They’ve been back around the same time every year.
Lindt Lindor Limited Edition Dark Strawberry Truffles
Score: 7.5 / 10
As the package says, these are absolutely reminiscent of a strawberry dipped in semi-dark, moderately sweet chocolate. Like other Lindt Truffles, they’re wonderfully creamy and rich.
Released February 2022 for Valentine’s Day for a limited time. They’ve been around every year since.
Hostess Limited Edition Easter White Fudge Ding Dongs
Score: 8 / 10
The long and short of it is that these are simply a sweet, sugary vanilla cake. What I like is the shell and how it adds just a slight firm texture when biting into this cream and cake filled snack. My only complaint is that there isn’t anywhere near as many sprinkles as shown on the box art.
Released in September 2017. These have come in differently styled varieties especially around the holiday seasons such as Easter and Halloween.
Peeps Marshmallow Flavored Hollow Milk Chocolate
Score: 7 / 10
A creamy, fairly sweet, milk chocolate. It’s mostly standard tasting, nothing crazy or too artificial–basically, a simple creamy tasting chocolate bar. I didn’t get any marshmallow flavor from this, though, perhaps that’s what added to the creaminess and blended in without my notice.
At the time of this post, there doesn’t seem to be any details about these. I found them at Walgreens mid February. I suspect they’re a new announced Easter 2024 Peeps item. They both come in yellow or darkish purple colored.
