Moon Pie Salted Caramel
Score: 6 / 10
I expected these to be a lot more sweet. Instead, these come out more plain than I figured they would, however, they are still sweet enough. The flavor resembles a light artificial caramel, and honestly, it’s almost enough to toss it away. Overall, I wish they were a little sweeter and had a less artificial caramel taste. At the very least, the soft cakey texture is great. When I microwaved these, the taste became even more funky!
Not sure when this was released, although Moon Pies have been around a long time. Found at Walmart.
Betty Crocker Caramel Apple Cookie Mix
Score: 7.5 / 10
The baking process was simple, and simple as it was, this cookie was the same. It resembles a sweeter sugar cookie that’s moist, thick, and with a tinge of tasty caramel and apple flavoring. Small chunks of chewy apple are part of each cookie but it doesn’t feel like there’s too much. Overall, these are decent and unoffending. Though, I’m not sure what frosting would pair well with these, if any.
Not sure when this was released. Found in early fall 2024 at Walmart.
Reese’s Chocolate Lava Big Cup
Score: 9 / 10
Don’t get your hopes up, these aren’t as good as they look. At the same time, don’t get me wrong, they’re so darn good! I put them judge a nudge higher than a regular Reese’s.
The fudge layer is a bit thinner than I’d like. It adds a decent fudgy flavor that is mostly overshadowed by the sweet, similar tasting Reese’s chocolate. At room temperature, the fudge layer right under the chocolate can get stripped by the wrapper. Chilling them fixes it, although they appear less gooey.
Released August 27, 2024. Found at Walmart.
Entenmann’s Classic Apple Cider Donuts
Score: 7.5 / 10
Very sweet and moist. There’s a super light cinnamony apple taste, but for the most part, it’s just a super sweet sugary donut. Great texture, it just really needs to fulfill the advertised flavor.
Not sure when these were released. They are generally around from August through November. Found at Stop & Shop.
Entenmann’s Classic Pumpkin Donuts
Score: 7.5 / 10
Really not much of any pumpkin taste. It’s completely overshadowed by the super sweet nature of the glaze and sugar. They’re very most, chewy, and overall, have a wonderful texture. Overall, great texture, just disappointed in the lack of pumpkin flavor.
Not sure when these were released. They are generally around from August through November. Found at Stop & Shop.
KitKat Ghost Toast
Score: 7.5 / 10
When I bit these, I immediately thought of French toast. They’re sweet and have that creamy vanilla taste you find in their vanilla and white creme KitKats, except this time, with a noticable cinnamon flavor. Surprisingly, it’s a lot sweeter than regular KitKats. Together with the flavors and sweetness, it’s a great combination that is sorely needed in the KitKat brand.
Released late August 2024 for the Halloween season. Found at Walmart.
Pillsbury Moist Supreme Perfectly Pumpkin Cake Mix
Score: 6 / 10
It has the fluffiness of a regular boxed cake that is a little bit more on the thicker side. Texture aside, the flavor is slightly pumpkiny with a hint of egg, but really, it’s on the plain side. To note, this cake required three large eggs so perhaps that’s why the flavor is such. I’d also like to see more of a bolder, sweeter pumpkin taste.
Not sure when this was released. Typically comes around early fall / late summer. Found at Walmart.
Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Oreo
Score: 6.5 / 10
Honestly, to me, this is nearly exactly like a vanilla coke. On initial taste, there’s the faintest hint of the cookie part of an Oreo but it’s quickly overshadowed by the vanilla taste. Other than that, there isn’t much to report! I expected this to be weird and instead, walked away enjoying it!
Released August 13, 2024 for a limited time alongside a Coca-Cola Oreo Cookie flavor. Found at Walmart.
Walmart bettergoods S’mores Spread
Score: 7 / 10
A moderately sweet mix of milk chocolate and vanilla-like spread. The consistency and some of the flavor reminds me of frosting. I’m not sure if I noticed ingrained crunchy bits as I put it on toast, however. It’s smooth and spreads well, and I can see this put on most baked goods as well.
Released around mid 2024 alongside other flavors. Found at Walmart during the late summer season.
Walmart bettergoods Cookies and Cream Spread
Score: 7.5 / 10
A little chunky with the added crunchy bits. This spread is like you melted Hershey Cookies and Cream bars–Really, the taste and sweetness level is identical. Great for bread and other pastries.
Released around mid 2024 alongside other flavors. Found at Walmart during the late summer season.
